<div></div>Do the Snare effects from the backshot line and the legshot line stack?I have noticed last night fighting orcs in zek that I only saw one snare Icon in their effects window and they closed the gap to me at near run speed.I know that damage can dispell the effects but I tested it a few times with the same result. I have app4 legshot and Adt3 backshot line. Also, has anyone ever seen the perfect root effect proc on the snare line from Splitpaw?Thanks,Lariet<div></div><p>Message Edited by toofy on <span class=date_text>07-07-2006</span> <span class=time_text>10:57 AM</span>

Hmm I dont know of a snare from bloodlines, but the snare from Splitpaw, Trick of the Hunter, will stack with your arrow snares. I have seen the perfect 40 second root from Trick of the hunter a few times. It has actually saved my behind. Maybe 1 in 10 if the snare doesnt get dispelled.
I know the snare effects from those lines used to stack, b/c I used to hit mobs with both while soloing in DoF and they'd slow to a crawl. Nowadays, though, I'm not really sure. That may have changed recently... I know lately my snares seem completely useless, they either appear to break immediately or don't have any effect at all. I'll see the snare icon on the mob, but their speed doesn't change to any noticeable degree.

Opps, I meant the snare from Splitpaw sorry for the confusion. I will do more testing tonight.Lariet<div></div>

<DIV>This is what I've noticed (forgive me, I can never seem to remember the CA names)... I'll open with the backshot snare and then follow with the legshot snare. They seem to stack because the mob slows to a crawl after the legshot. But, more often than not, the legshot attack breaks the backshot snare leaving me with just the legshot snare.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Where I have my best luck is with the slow poison. If that thing goes off while opening with the backshot the mob will move so slow that I can get off all of my frontal non-stealth ranged attacks, if the mob lives long enough.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I prefer to open with the big hitters, but they are not always up when I need them.</DIV>

i never use snare anymore. in my opinion with the inability to kite effectivly snare is useless unless it's part of a CA. i never cast the CA of just snare. waste of power that it is.

Hmm, I like snare, sure not as much as ensnare of eqlive, but it works well, most of the time.I use snare in conjunction with well timed root/PBShot/Cheapshot if it breaks earlier than expected, and fight with defensive on if I am fighting indoors with minimal kite room. If the mob cannot summon pets, or only casts using spells I have better resists on then I am generally ok. That and lifetap poisons.Surely not the best in the world, but I am not complaining about my solo skills too much. It could be worse.Merkades, 70th Ranger.Siege, Najena.

Recently the snares seem to have changed effectiveness from my observations. While soloing in Sinking Sand I have frequently used the Back Shot and the Melee snare as well as Leg shot, and have yet to see any mobs slow to an absolute crawl. I have, a couple of times, had three snare's on them (meaning about 130% speed decrease) and yet they still charged. The order in which the effects are applied may make some differance, I'll do some testing later today and get back to you with the results. As far as I know though, the effectiveness is pretty much random, and sometimes stacking only really makes a big differance if the first snare broke and the second one still holds. But still, 60% snare on leg shot is pretty nice if you have plenty of kiting room <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> <div></div>
