Okay, I am still new, as many of the ranger board members know, but I'm having some issues with bow damage. the bows damage is 7-38, with 4.5 sec delay, on a level 11 ranger, I have yet to hit for more than 10 damage, no matter what arrows i use. (that a level 11 can afford..) I dont understand what im doing wrong? Is it just THAT broken? or am I screwing something up?-Reise

Are you using T2 arrows? (Iron Arrows) You need to use the appropriate tier to do max damage. tin arrows are T1 and probably would hurt your damage.

You also should see if you can pick up a few +STR items.

as well as the correct arrow tier also make sure your ranged skill is at maximum, also pierce skill i guess too but not sure if that effects ranged or melee only. Upping my pierce never seemed to make any difference to my bow shots or being able to hit mobs easier

At that level you should be able to stack 3 poisons...one for actual poison damage, one stun (if you can find them anymore), the last to decrease any of the attirbutes (STA,STR,INT,AGI etc)

51 str, 80 agi, im level 13 with maxed range skill, and i tried using iron arrows, still same results. I have to be doing something wrong, or maybe 51 str is just really bad ^.^ Also, I dont really know anything about poisons, or how to get them, but I would rather not have them if it requires me crafting or paying the insane prices that people sell everything else for..I dont know how the heck they expect people who didnt buy gold or arent playing an alt to pay for anything. Butif theres a vendor, I would gladly enjoy the knowledge ^.^-Reise

You can buy poisons are various merchants in the city, at least basic ones. Player crafted ones are better. I'd try searching the broker to see if any reasonably-priced poisons are available. You never know.

51 str is pretty decent for level 13. What bow are you using?

Some poisons sell well and as a result they can get expensive, but you can often find something similiar to what you want for quite a bit less. Use the expensive ones for when you really need it and the cheaper stuff for everyday use. But you do want to use poisons.

You want to get familiar with how they work with different types of mobs and want to get use to seeing them in your maintained spells window. You want to get in the habit of checking them periodically for how many procs they have left. Basically, re-applying poisons should become second nature, otherwise you'll find yourself smacking your forhead when you get dropped by a mob you should have been able to beat.

Once you go poison, you'll never want to be without them again. They are that importatnt.

You are using a Spider leg Bow. Its extremely low lvl for you. Go to the Elder Grove and visit the Bow shop. There is a quest for a very nice 10 dmg rating bow there that only takes 5 minutes.

If it's a Crawler Leg Bow it's the quest bow from the farmhouse on Qeynos Highway and it's far too low for you. Go to Elddar Grove to the bow shop and talk to Gregor (NPC in shop). That's a fast, easy quest for a better bow.
