I thought here would be a large size thread about this subject here already.if there is one, where is it?I would have thought that there would be alot of talk about something they gave to us..and are now decreasing. How are we still going to be able to use this skill and still have enough time to back up and take a couple of shots??

We already discussed the heck out of it when we first heard about it weeks ago. Many of us who solo either exclusively or almost exclusively are not happy.

There are plenty of threads, but we kinda covered this issue a few weeks ago. Thanks hun for the links and I will go read them over.I had been dreading reading them, but I need to..was hoping there might be some reports from test on it....that maybe we still have enough time, if done right to back up and get a couple of bow shots off.I understand why they are doing a across the board decrease...because in a group they all stack up and freeze up the mob.thing is why couldnt they have made them none stackable? eh?I am hoping that they will also decrease the casting time on some of our bow shots to make up for the lost..

Four seconds is a decrease, but it isn't the end of the world. It'll definitely make soloing more challenging, though... and a lot of us would agree that it's plenty challenging already.

Elquinjena wrote:I understand why they are doing a across the board decrease...because in a group they all stack up and freeze up the mob.

That's just it, though. They aren't decreasing the group portion of it. It still gets 2 seconds on heroic mobs, just like it always did. The only portion of it being affected is the 6 seconds on solo mobs. Not even a single ^ arrow mob, because it did and still only lasts 2 seconds on those. So we weren't using these 6 seconds to chain-stun in groups anyway because we haven't had longer than 2 seconds on anything with an arrow for quite a long time. Thus it is a nerf directly to solo ability, not the problem of chain-stunning in groups as they claim all the control changes came from. And so the reasoning they gave, to quote one of my favorite movies, is Grade A Baloney.

Message Edited by TaleraRis on 06-07-2006 05:49 PM

I agree with you jay..One thing I do want to point out after reading posts, is many make ref to ^^^ mobs being soloed by a ranger.I have the rare armor..most of my spells are app I or a bit higher...I am NOT ubar..but I think I am balanced in armor and stats and such..but I have NEVER been albe to solo a ^^^ mob.!! At level 52 I watched a level 50 wizard solo one of those 51 ^^^ sand giants...now you tell me whats up with that?I can't touch anything that is more than ^ and it has to be even or a tad lower...anything else forget it.....did the blade arena quest..and that damm heroic mob was 1 ^ up and always one level above me...I finally got it..but I was almost dead...I got lucky after many many tried..so I just dont get it where people are talking about soloing ^^^ anything or even ^^ guys..honestly I just dontExtra Note: when I think of ^^^ I think of ones my level or higher...group ones..the only ^^^ I can even touch are ones alone and they have to Very green or grey...and the Only reason I have ever gone after such mobs was to finish off some quest that has been sitting on my book for months because everyone else I know has moved on from that...or the mob is one of those you have to wait for......and I doubt very serious if these are a big threat or game breaking thing.

Message Edited by Elquinjena on 06-07-2006 03:12 PM

Most people soloing ^^^ at even or better con have great gear and are very skilled. There are some classes which have an advantage but it still takes both. T6 crafted is not "great". Those guys often have masters spells and some nice fabled drops. To be fair, I think rangers have a huge disadvantage in soloing anything with a lot of HP since there is no real strategy involved other than to find ways to do a lot of damage before it gets close. While that is also true for wizards, they can repeatedly root them for a long time while we only have 1 long root and can't recast it for a while. It's not trivial for a ranger to solo ^ mobs much less ^^^.
