They did that with all spells that were only a % based effect. So Pally's line of hate siphon spells ends at Amends. For spells that have other components (like the Vines CA for example) You'll notice that the % based part (the snare) will never increase again (for the same quality spell) but the numerical parts like the heat debuff will continue to be upgraded.

<P>Thank you for posting these. I still have a "noob" question as I have just started playing (WoW convert). I just want to make sure I have this down. Even though I will be getting updated spells at certain levels, they will still be classified as Apprentice I, is that correct? If I get Apprenctice II and the spell upgrades at level ___  it will also be Apprentice II ?  Also can anyone point me in the direction of a good strategy for selecting Master II spells? Each spell is individual, so if you get app2 for that spell it doesn't affect any other spell you might have or get.  Generally speaking, spells upgrade every 14 levels to their next version.  So your backstab you get at level 5 for example would upgrade to a better version at 19.  You then would get an app1 for that new one which you need to upgrade separately.  After level 50 you stop getting app1s automatically and have to buy everything.   Usually, the app1 version of a new spell is slightly better than the adept3 or master1 of the old spell, and noticably better than the adept1 or app1-4 version of the previous.  It's important to upgrade all your spells.
