Hi all,

I'm at work now, and can't log in to check vendors or merchant board, so I'll beg your patience and ask which armor I should buy for my level 12 Ranger. Crafted or vendor-bought, doesn't matter, as long as it's the best I can get. And let's pretend that money's no option, shall we?

The reason I'm so eager for good armor (and aren't we all, really?) is because I'm getting my [Removed for Content] handed to me on an increasingly disturbing basis in Antonica. I'm trying to do a quest involving sea turtles, and yellows have killed me quite efficiently. Also, bears (even green cons!) seem to just pound me into dough. Ugh. 100% of my armor now is quest and dropped armor (sorry, can't recall the names of the various pieces), mostly light. Just an FYI -- I've replace all Isle armor.

For instance, can I wear steel brigandine yet?

Thanks for all your help -- this is a great community here.

Flid (Antonia Bayle)

The armor you get from low lvl quests is actually really good for the lvl.

Do the racial mentor's quests in your starting town, then I think they have you head to the forest ruins and do a few quests for the acting knight....someone lol, then when you finish with him he tells you to go to the caves and do some quests and get good good sets there. Pants, chest, boots, and....I think a weapon too.

That armor should last you til the 20s and its lvl 12ish stuff. IF you dont replace it by buying stuff but IMO the armorsmiths are going to charge more than its worth at that lvl to get rare stuff made.

Do those quests, you should be in the 13-15 range when youre done, and you should be ok for a little while, then when you hit 20 do the AQ's, you can start those at lvl 20 from Ian something in qeynos harbor near the arena.

I don't remember the low level stuff but T7 looks to be Nemesis, Hurricane and Relic armor, at least from what I've been able to find so far, and see the stats on. There are a few exceptions if you're looking for just stats.

Thanks, Caelum, I'd forgotten about my mentor quest(s)...when I log on tonight, I'll check my quest journal. I remember something about glowmists...and a fountain...in Castleview Hamlet.

Still wondering if there is good store-bought or player-made armor out there to be had before level 20...

Flid (Antonia Bayle)

Yeah. if you got the coin you can go for pristine imbued blackend iron chain chest and leggings, but like a previous poster said, the armorsmiths way overcharge for this. If you got a good guild with a high level armorsmith it might be good to look into. Harvest rocks for rare blackend iron and then hand it over to your armorer. Excellent stuff.

In fact the legendary player-made armor is the est armor you can get, with the exception of fabled armor, up through T6.

I don't think blacken iron chain is a good suggestion for a L12 ranger, for obvious reasons

you might want t olook on the broker for gnoll chain items, I wore a few gnoll chain pieces at that level and it gave me a great boost in str, which will boost your CA damage

as previously posted there is some great gear in the T1 missions, especially the caves, you'll be surprised
