View Full Version : SoA Delay Problems Fixed?
<div>Another ringer in my guild mentioned last night that SOE seems to have fixed the delay issue with Stream of Arrows. I wondered if anyone has noticed that it seems to be fixed. I haven't had a chance to check yet.</div>

<div></div>I have noticed some wierd things with stream. It will fire a bunch of arrows in a row really fast - back to back to abck with no dealy at all. Then all of a sudden it will pause. I think the problem occurs when a proc happens as the proc graphic delays the stream casting. At least this is what I think is happeneing. So if you do not have a proc stream will cast very fast.

<div></div>No, it is not fixed.I thought it was too, though, and it was because I had Poise, the last rank in our AGI line that speeds up cast times.Poise basically 'fixes' stream (it parsed shots about every 1.5s) so I thought it was fixed. Then I asked a ranger who did not have poise to duel me and turn on stream. <div></div>Ok and here's an aside to the above that I'm curious if anyone else has seen. Since LU21 when I use stream I noticed that my Focus Aim icon was no darkened like all the other icons. So last night in the middle of using stream I tried clicking it. It queued up for a moment then after a few casts of Stream Shot I cast Focus Aim (this was about halfway through the 30sec run of Stream of Arrows). Has anyone else been able to reproduce this? The other guild ranger could not. Also could this be a clue to the lag in Stream? Maybe we're getting an Auto Attack in the queue that's causing the pauses?

eh, with poise, i can't say it's completely worthlessthis is a % split of a parse against the slavering alzid (70x4 in lab) where I did 800 DPS<img src="http://www.improvmasta.org/eq2/stream.jpg">was a 5 minute fight, so my DPS would have been very shoddy if I didn't use it. if it can do that with poise, i can only assume that when it's fixed, it will be a marquee skill again.<div></div>

<div></div><div></div>Well, I haven't used it a lot lately, but if you are at 100% haste and good arrows, I'm not sure why auto-attack wouldn't be far superior. <div></div>I think if it were working as stated it would still be better. Maybe 100% haste and 100% dps might beat it out.

We need to petition and get this fixed as soon as possible. This one spell is the key to us maintaining DPS. If we could get it working as it should be then, our DPS on raids should be equal to Assasins. (screw summoners they are on their own).

<div>Yes, it is correct. You should be able to cast Focus Aim while in SoA is activated. If you read Focus it says you can cast while stiffled. It's somethingI they have finally fixed in LU21.</div>

<div></div>Personally i really wish we had something more... fun than stream of arrows. even when it was good, all it was was a ticket to take a free 30 second AFK. Yea... you maybe had to watch aggro here and that was the risk involved, but i would have really preferred something that required me to be a bit more involved than activating SoA and praying. the fact that it was 30 seconds on with a 30 second recast meant that if your group had a troub for deaggro or a dirge/coercer to add to tank aggro, you basically only had to do any real work every 30 seconds before you turned SoA again. Maybe i would like it more if they decreased the length (maybe 10-15 seconds) and decreased the time between each hit (to like 1 sec), and scaled the damage to be effective again. But, as it stands, im not missing SoA too much right now.
