OK, I'm just curious as to who took what... and why. Here are the choices:LongbladeDevitalizing ArrowFocus AimSelectionI REALLY wanted to take Selection as M2. Then I got to thinking (dangerous as that is). With all the problems with parrying added to the end game raiding DA would be a better choice. Lowering the MoBs parry by 65 (?) has helped a LOT fighing those orange ^^^ MoBs that we always seem to go after in group. Once we hit the end game raids I think that this will be invaluable. On the counterside, there is NOTHING more fun than using Selection. Just watching ALL those orange numbers flying over the MoBs heads. I could just imagine the joy if those numbers doubled...<div></div>

<div></div><div>Yeah my choice was between Selection and Devitalizing. Although I did give pause for Focus Aim with the changes that are going to happen to it. Then I remembered I saw a master focus aim for 8p on the broker on Everfrost. So i figured I would wait for the changes to see how much I was going to use Focus Aim before wasting an M2 on it. I wound up taking Devitalizing Arrow and am very happy with it. I use it much more since you can use it solo while selection's use is limited in that it is a true AoE plus you need invis so practically useless solo unless you pull with it. My solo game has picked up nicely after picking Devitalizing Arrow which is nice. I have not regretted it. Although I msut say I was torn like you<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div> </div><div>Elbryan64 Ranger</div>

I chose Devitalizing Arrow, but I solo a great deal.  It had the most utility for me personally.<div></div>

It came down to selection or devitalizing arrow for me as well.I chose devit because I use it nearly every fight, without fail.  The debuff is the kicker.Selection doesn't get as much use, although it is fun, so it got Adept3.<div></div>

<div></div>I myself took Selection, but then I had Devit Arrow at Master I already. If I hadn't had that I probably would have taken Devit Arrow. It's decent enough DMG at Master level and a good Debuff too.

<div></div>I took Devit Arrow, have selection M1 already. If I see a Devit Arrow M1 on broker, I'll grab it and respec and take Focus aim.

<div></div>Took Devit Arrow. I didn't see a skill in that lineup that I use any more frequently. (Granted, "multiple times in every single fight" is about as frequent as it gets, so this was as no-brainer for me.)

<div></div>Devit here.  I use it every fight so it's the best bang for the buck for me.  Guildy has a M1 of it though so I may pick that up and respec to one of the others.

<div></div>Focus Aim here.  Selection is great, however, I only use in group fights, very seldomly in raid situations...possibly on large large #'s of grouped mobs...Rain of Arrows much better for single encounter....using both pretty much guarantees a beatdown.  Devitalizing arrow is great also, I managed to pick up the master 1.   The focus aim, I am happy I chose.  Again, I've seen normal bow shots with 3 procs normal on as well as a crit.  This skill is putting me at about 1k-1500k damage in autoattack for about 10 seconds.  Very nice IMHO.  This is my stream of arrows for post-LU20.  It's not quite giving me the damage as stream, but nevertheless a very nice skill.

Well dont I feel left out, I took Longblade here, I already had devit master 1 and had got made selection adept3, I completely forgot about the master 2 choice.Pretty happy with it really, I use it a lot for the backstabs and also of course when solo'ing. Not sure about Focus, I have the t6 master and well there wasnt a huge difference.

<div></div><div></div><p><font color="#99ff99">I too had a Devit Master and Selection at Ad3 when I hit 64. I happened to pick Focus. I fugured W>T>F, I still have a respec stone available if it really hits the fan. Maybe the upcoming change to Focus will make it worth my while. I gotta hold out hope somewhere. But it was a tough call between Long and Focus  /shrug  because I do, and always have, use all my melee skills along with my bow skills and all other special skills like Honed Reflexes from the Bloodline xpak and Trap of the Hunter from Splitpaw. (love that 36% haste to throw around when i feel like a little up-close-and-personal wet work and it can never hurt to debuff heat damage)But no matter what you choose, if you want to play with the big boys, and be top DPS - you are going have to learn to use ALL your skills, ranged, melee, short term buffs, debuffs (yes, we do have a couple) and knowing how and when to auto attack. Ranger just became a much more complex character to master. </font></p><p><font color="#99ff99">ps. You thought you did great DPS by just laying back and cycling your bow CAs with some auto-range in between pre LU20?      You shoulda seen my numbers while jousting, or fighting with everything at my disposal while standing in the "sweet spot" in a non-AoE fight...../sigh   Glory Days....</font></p><p>Message Edited by Dirtgirl on <span class="date_text">03-15-2006</span><span class="time_text">02:41 PM</span></p>

<div></div><p>Dirtygirl you do know that the Trap of the Hunter snare from splitpaw debuffs magic and not heat right.  The rangers natural snare line that ends with Vines in T7 is the one that debuffs heat.  And since Trap and Vines are on the same recast timer you can only debuff one at a time.</p><p> </p>

<div></div><div></div><p>LOL  youre right, i forgot I just switched over too. Was using trap for a looong time. <div>Same as everyone else is saying.  Was down to Selection and Devitalizing and I already had Master 1 of Devitalizing so went with Selection.</div>

<div></div><div>Selection all the way. I use it in raid every time it is up and it hits hard. Need to be a bit careful at times but its range isn't big enough to cause any problems really. Nothing better than doubling up rain of arrows and Selection back to back :smileyhappy: Often see it crit for 3k plus. </div>
