Not new to the Ranger, just sick of my Monk since KoS came out so went back to playing my First love...the Ranger.  Just got 40 last night, and since my main is a 62 Monker I was able to shell out for a full suit of Ebon armor minus the forearms and the head.  I've been on these boards a lot, and read tons on what stats Monks need and etc, but when I switch to a Ranger I'm kinda baffled here. Please correct me if I'm wrong but...STR- Needed for damageAGI- Ranger power pool, so much neededWIS- Resists, so it's really nice to haveINT- Spell/Pro damage so again nice to haveSTA- HP poolSo which ones should I be focusing on more then the others?  My highest ones are AGI (Around 160ish) and STR (Around 140ish) but not entirely sure which to concentrate on. Also then, what lines of the achievement path should I be heading down?<div></div>

Try and get them all as best as you can get them, but get your STR the highest for the extra DPS.My best advice I can give ya is have fun and keep smiling <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

There is really a LOT of info needed before a good answer can be given. Do you solo or group more? Do you Raid? If your an alt are you twinked at all?STR is very important for out DPS. So much so that MOST rangers think it is our primary stat. The higher our STR the more damage our CA's/attacks do.AGI is still important to the soloer AND the raider. It increases our power pool AND our defense (or is it mitigation - either way you get hit less with higher AGI).INT increases damage with our poisons. I have NO idea how much, but the higher your INT the better.WIS helps your saves. Again I don't know by how much. This is important for both solo (when you are getting hit) and Raids (saves for AoEs). I have died after killing a MoB solo because of a nasty DOT (/sigh)My choices would be as follows:Solo: AGI, STR, WIS, INTGroup: STR, INT, AGI, WISRaid: STR, WIS, AGI, INTMy WIS is never higher than my AGI, but I try to buff it up as much as I can before raids, usually lowering my AGI and INT in the process...<div></div>

I twink within my budget, have a 60 weaponsmith + armorer in my guild, so I'll always have the Pristine stuff.  Right now in Full suit of ebon armors minus the fabled woven vine forearm and the leather augmented skullcap (got this for the int boost).  I try to use the HQ's to keep my armor/weapons up to my level, meaning when I hit 30 I had my PGT in hand, when I'm 40 had my SSoY, my primary is the gem leg chopper with bow being the spikeshank of doom (love that name!) both fabled.  Ranger is very quickly becoming my main over my Monk since the release of KoS.As for the solo/group/raid question...I do all three often.  My guild is in a raiding alliance so I do go on my fair share of raids, solo a lot of quests then when I want to xp I group.<div></div>

<div></div><p>I'd go STR first, AGI second, and STA / INT / WIS after, in whatever order. INT does affect proc damage, but procs are so rare now that I don't feel that INT is all that useful anymore. (Though you could just as easily say you want each proc to do the absolute most dmg now that they're so rare; I just don't see much bang for the buck off INT.)</p><p>STR is *all* of our damage. You see nice gains in DPS off added STR. AGI is our power pool and avoidance, but most rangers don't run too low on power outside of raids, and I don't see much gain in avoidance off added AGI. I've played around and added 100 AGI to my score and only seen my avoidance change by a few percentage points. Sadly, AGI is the only stat we can self-buff, but it's just not that useful IMO.</p>
