<div>With the increase on bow damage rating it got me wondering again about what the optimal crafted bow for a ranger is. The Longbow or the Shortbow.  Any insights?</div><div>If I had the extra plat laying around I would buy a shortbow to test. Group and kill a few hundred mobs with each and compare to determine if the shortbow's speed made it superior to the longbows hitting power. </div><div>I'd recommend equipping only slashers as melee weapons to avoid confusing a parser and mixing in melee pierces with ranged pierce.</div><div>If someone has both I would love to see the results.  I think the longbow looks better, but if a shortbow can get me back an extra 1% DSP I'd go for it...</div>

Even if I lost DPS by sticking with a longbow I'd never use a shortbow. In my guild groups I never just DPS, I often gank nameds from other groups in the dungeon we're competing with.10m is a long way when you're trying to reach a boss before someone else. =)<div></div>

<div></div>Arrow consumption is my show stopper.  I couldn't afford the amount of arrows a short bow will go through in a night.

<div></div>A good few ranger CAs have a set range regardless of bow no?.... I'm sure I saw one with a range of 50m.

CAs have casting times.Fastest pull will always be auto ranged attack, bar none.My three pullers are:1. autoranged2. surveil3. amazing shotDepending on the situation.<div></div>

<div></div><p>50m is improved surviel (longest distance of any art in game btw) , which isnt an attack... invis + aggro drop. Prolly the best pulling spell in game... can stand next to a guardian with auto taunt on, pull with IS and have basically -hate (dont know if possible but still) train the mob past guardian, and his AT will pick up the mob itself... I used it everytime in FoL.</p><p>Next longest CA is Stream... which brings up an interesting question that i havent eva asked... If you equip a short bow, then cast stream onna mob 45m away (max distance) will the little stream shot ca's still go? or will u be sitting there with spell running and firing no arrows? I assume prolly the former, but since ill never use a shortbow, ill never test it!</p>
