Bow Speed?

now i am the first to say that at level 45 i have no idea about upper end stuff ........ok my question is this ... Why is there only 2 speeds for bows ... 7 second and 4.5 second ??wouldn't it be cool to have Alot differant ones like a bow of haste 2 second low dd for kiting or a big boomer 10 second x2 dps for raidsanyway i think it would be alot better like in eq1 where you could choose ALOT of differant ones.

<div></div><p>I agree this would be a really nice thing to have, and due to the proc chance changes for CAs, adding different speed bows should not effect game balance.</p><p>The problem I see is that short, fast bows have a shorter range, and long, slow bows have the larger range. If an even slower bow is added, shouldn't it have an even bigger range? I think any larger than we have right now will be too much, and will be unfair.</p><p>Shorter bows should have shorter range, but wouldn't this come close to melee range?</p><p>Some middle size bows would be nice though <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<div></div><div><font size="4" color="#0066cc">    I fully agree with you.  Our bows should have different speeds as well as range.  I posted on one of the other threads that the range needs to be increased for our bows.  The distance we can fire is limited right now and it hinders our abilities as Rangers.  The speed of our bows would allow for a bigger range of choices.  Here is an idea, since the Tradeskillers' can make bows, why not allow those bows to have a shorter delay but an average range.  Or better yet, depending on the quality of the bow, have it change both.  Pristine Bows have greater range and lower delays, while normal bows just have lower delay.   Just my 2cp.</font></div><div><font size="4" color="#0066cc"></font> </div><p>Message Edited by Lorinati on <span class="date_text">03-03-2006</span><span class="time_text">07:17 PM</span></p>

<div>i currently have 2 bows that i use.  a longbow with the usual 7sec delay, and a shortbow called Bow of the Silverpine that has a delay of only 2sec.  I am very impressed with this bow, with adamantine arrows, and some decent proc rates, i feel like pre LU19.  Been gettin some really good damage and high numbers.  With my haste buffs and in a group situation, i'm actually lookin at less than a second to like 1.5 sec actual delay's.  Only drawback is it's an arrow-eater, and i'm currently tryin to get an adept III made for reclaimed arrows as the adept 1 just isnt cuttin it.  Reason why i have the longbow as well.  So there's bow selections are out there, much better than the original and DoF.  even seen some Longbows with 5-6 second delays on them. </div>

<div></div><p>Biggest problem i see with this is that this matters to no-one but rangers... There isnt much class specific loot in the game, and i doubt they would make something like this just for us...The bow that Jaiden is talking about is the only shortbow ive personally ever seen that i would use over a longbow ( good stats, its not better than an ebony bow (t7 rare), but in situations can be better than ironwood), so i feel we are pretty much constricted to longbows anyway...</p><p>( and considering we are constantly spamming CA's, weapon speed doesnt really matta but for the random auto attack shot that gets of everynow and then...)</p><p>'dis all just opinion mon.. feel free to dis'gree</p>

<div></div>What level is the silverpine? Been debating making long or short imbued oak bow, and if this is around my level (36) I will just make the long and quest for this silverpine bow.

<div></div>Not always, (just my 2cp) against power drain short bow with faster AA should help more but not at the 4.5 for crafted.

<div></div><p>im sayin any crafted bow or any choice in bows where the dmg rating is the same take the longbow. If you see some uber shortbow that shoulda never been so short in the first place, hook it up.... but ill personally even take small sacs on dr (this factors in speed) and stats just to get the longbow.</p><p> </p>

<div></div><p>Think I will just wait for LU21 and see what the damage increase is (supposed to be 33% for long bow) then just make the long bow anyways. Big delay is the imbuing, just too expensive at the lower tiers. If I find a sale it will probably get it made this week.</p><p> Its kinda sad that I can craft better than I can adventure and still don't have an armorer or weaponsmith.</p>
