View Full Version : About Debilitating Arrow, Thorny Trap and Primal Agility.

I have read about the Debilitating Arrow nerf (no longer a mobile ranged attack) but I have not seen anyone mention the other two.Primal Agility M1 is now only 41% de-aggro (it was 55%), A3 is 39%.. a whopping 2% difference). Not really worth the 8pp I spent on it two weeks or so ago.. granted my dps is a fair amount worse than before, but I still do not appreciate ninja nerfs, more so after investing in upgrades.Thorny Trap is now half the size, maybe less and about half the damage. It is actually kinda hard to get mobs to trip the trap now, and it only deals 400-500 damage at A3. while damage is not the primary purpose, I take what I can get.So, SOE, why the changes? Are you guys not yet done with us yet? There is not too much left you know. You should probably use a less heavy hand and avoid all these minor changes after you just [Removed for Content] off 95%+ of this class' players. I know I certainly am not happy with your performance, and look forward to another game being released, but I *would* like to have fun in my chosen class until that time comes (and for the record, I never have liked T1 dps. DPS never gets balanced fairly compared to tanking/healing/buffing, and EQ2 really shows that)Anyways..the Arrow and Trap skills helped in soloing, and duels too.When I duel now, I have even less attacks to use, as I cannot stand toe to toe with anyone but casters, the stun/Debilitating Arrow hurts alot there. The Trap nerf is going to make it harder to catch summoner pets who will beat the living daylights out of me if I do not.. I don't think I can kill them in the 6 seconds the stun lasts on them now. Not to mention it does not work on PCs anyways. I would like to see you guys also test the PvP (actually /duel, I could care less about PvP though I am sure they want that too) aspect of a Ranger, we are rather poor at it now, thanks to 2 sec cast time (on decent(read Bow)CAs)that require a min distance and cannot be used while moving on top of reduced stuns and lousy up front melee CAs. I find while duel kiting I am spending alot of time simply running away trying to let cycles refresh and gain room to have a 2 second CA go off (thank God you made Snare at least marginally better).As for solo'ing... Hmm. Well, If I go defensive and pop my to 5 min timers for melee dps/haste boost, I guess I can do ok. Or lead off with a big hitter. But that is about it, kinda sad I have to use long timers to win on alot of mobs (specifically blue^ mobs or multiple regular mobs (yes, they are designated solo)).. Glad I got my Godking saber the night before LU20. I only solo for quests atm, so I am sure someone else can fill that in better (maybe I suck at that? I doubt it).Anyways, just the things I noticed today that I did not see, as well as some of the things I experienced.Merkades, 61st Ranger.Siege, Najena.

Sniper Shots stun was reduced, Stream of Arrows had a few unpublisized changes and a few that were, and from what i understand (i actually took the spells for granted and dont remember what they were at prenerf) confusion arrows hate gain was lowered, and the leg shot line's slow effect was lowered...</p><p>basically what they told us about wouldnt have broken the class, so we didnt get upset...</p><p>what they actually did was a different matter. Lookin forward to *** other mmo's ***.... hope there is some sort of playable ranger class there... hope that they dont handle buisness like others.</p><p>As more and more days pass, im convinced that the game is failing.... underpopulated servers leading to merges...Sony changing things everyday without notice, almost like their scared what will happen if they tell people what their doing...obviously no new people joinin the game as more and more leave every day...</p><p>I'm not quitting eq, but i play it less and less and spend more time on the boards [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]ing now than i do playing the game...Let me say that if i ever find a game with as good of a base, i will go there.... but for right now every other major mmo out there handles buidness betta than this. (dont know about SWG... never played never saw)</p>

<div></div><p>I would really like to know whether or not all these stealth nerfs were intended or not. The procing nerf, by itself completely destroyed the entire class. The rest is just icing on the cake. Why were these changes not posted in the update notes? All of these are signifigant nerfs, and should've been posted if they were intended. Was thorny trap really too powerful? Debilitating arrow too much of a convenience to be cast on the run? Hasn't stream of arrows been nerfed now half a dozen different ways? Lets go ahead double the price of arrows and poison, and make SoA and Selection stationary ca's to finish what you started.</p><p>They change like 10 different things w/ our class and completely obliterate it and their feedback with us recently is virtually non-existant. They should be all over the ranger forums answering our questions and keeping us updated. This entire situation is really a disappointment. Doing subpar dps wouldn't be so bad if that was just it and I could still reasonably solo, and provide decent damage for a group but its just all gone at the moment. Yeah, I am sure I missed a few others, but these were the ones that came immediately into mind last night during a raid, when I was moved to a standard group instead of a dps group (which was fine and one I endorsed, since I do do less dps now and have a master Primal Agility and a ranged deaggro) by reflex, I hovered over Primal and noticed I lost 14% de aggro on it. I am still not worried about taking aggro, but it pisses me off non the less.And I noticed the issue about Thorny Trap earlier in the day trying to root a group of level 54s (so a resser could res us safely) so I would not get owned by them all at once.Debilitating Arrow I threw in because I use it alot. And saw no official response.To clarify, actually, conversely to alot of people I play more than before (I like my guild, and new expansion gives me something not so boring to do). While I have to fight alot more for respectable DPS, and now lose to summoners more often than not, I, at least, am still welcomed in guild groups (I don't lfg, so who knows). I have always planned to leave EQ2 ever since I found out it was ARAC (something like that just sets the tone of the game). I actually think the game is much much better than when it launched. So when I mentioned that I do intend to leave, it has nothing to do with the changes of LU20, the ninja nerfs, the prior lu13, post lu13, post lu20 Rangers. I never liked any of them to begin with ((just did not dislike them either)but they are Rangers.. must play a Ranger). That is not to say I like the recent changes, rather I think they went too far as is par and it is just making me wish another game releases soon (though not too soon as to be similar to EQ2s obviously rushed launch).Sorry about the long clarification.
