<div>I wanted to possibly see what things the t7 rangas had to say... questions about KoS, nerfage, and all that kinda good stuff... Hoping the fact that title says t7 ranger will keep out all the t4 wizzy trolls... Also i just wanted to see where yall stand on a few points, such as...</div><div> </div><div>Where do you think we should fit in solo? What types of mobs should we be able to take, and using what methods? What methods have been working for you, and which have not?</div><div> </div><div>In groups, do you think rangers should be pure dps, as they were in DoF, or should we gain utility? Are you having trouble hitting higher than even conned mobs with your bow? Do you think that as rangers, we should rely more heavily on the bow, or switching off between dualies and bow?</div><div> </div><div>Where do we now stand on raids? As the former ultimate dps'ters on epic targets, are u now having trouble finding spots in the raid? Where do we now stand (dps-wise) on these targets? and which specific targets?</div><div> </div><div>it isnt that the rangers of lower tiers have any less valuable opinions, i am simply a t7 ranger myself, and want to see how the changes the have affected me so much are affecting others of comparable lvel, gear and skill... The new KoS expansion is out, and many new and exciting items are out there. While many of us may have seen them or are familiar with them, they may be new to others...</div><div>(ahem) ie... Has anyone seen an ebony bow? better or worse than ironwood if you have? the t7 rare armor having lower mitigation scares me, for i worry that this will translate into lower DR on weapons...</div><div> </div><div> </div>

<div></div><p>startin off, ill letchall know where i think we stand.</p><p>1) solo... i think we stand where we should solo, with the exeption of roots and snares. Were rangers, we move quickly and escape from trouble, we should not be rooted and snared like other classes (more than others actually, for our resists are lower) This being said, i think that solo, other classes are overpowered. No class should be able to take a heroic mob that cons near their level... Our solo abiltily prenerf was a joke. Whats the point of heroic mobs if u can clear them all by yourself? But do what u want with that. Im not here to call a nerf down on anybody... I simply feel that soloing should be dificult. (that said, most rangers on this page will prolly be [Removed for Content] out so maybe thats unfair to the other rangas...)</p><p>2) Groups... i mean ffs... we got torn a new one. I parse higher than other dps classes usually do, because i have better gear, am a higher level, and dont slax... However when i finally end up grouping with another raid quality dps, its not even close. While i understand that this isnt a dps competition, we still need to be able to fufill our purpose to its full extent; which im sorry to say atm i dont feel we are even close to capable of. We slow mobs, we stun for 2 secs everynow and then so healers can catch up, we disarm, we evack, we can pull mobs well. What else can we now do? I have pretty much just relegated myself to group spotter, keepin track open at all times, finding names, if a healer is gonna take an add ill slow it and bring it to tank...</p><p>i just feel like they took a tommy gun out of our hands, replaced it with a cap gun, and said "run along now children..."</p><p>3) raids... i personally have not been onna raid as of yet, as the guild is taking a break in order to gain some levels and get an understanding of the new zones and character progressions... I would very much like to know how any raids go for yall.</p><p>lemme know what yall think... i actually dont care if devs look at this thread, i just really want to know how yall feel about this...</p>

<div></div><p>Aye Stormy, but i was tryin to get an exclusive thread for the t7 ranger... i dont much care about how well a t4 or t5 is handling buisness on these fronts, cause well, call me selfish, but im not one... and honestly people just dont advertise their level or playin ability enuff unless i try to force it outta them... i wanted info that can directly apply to me and others my level and skill without having to wade thru 10 pages of flames... player a; sayin rangers arent nerfed enuff cause my wizzy blah blah blah and player b; comin back your and idiot blah blah blah... :smileymad:</p><p>Applicable info only! hehehe...</p>

<div></div>also, pretty much figured that any t7 ranger on this page will be one of the ones that WAS overpowered, and therefore better discussions ensue...

<div></div><p> I agree, no one should be able to solo heroic encounters (low greens maybe), and our role in groups is messed up, but I seem to have the opposite opinion of you on soloing</p><p>I don't think we stand where we should solo. I logged in to Pillars of Flame on Saturday and decided to have a go at a duo harpy group near the friendly monks, a windsister jaggedfeather and a windsister dustfeather. This was a<strong> lvl</strong> <strong>56 solo</strong> encounter, one was a down arrow and the other was a two down arrow. I've fought these pre LU20 with ease, but I have played post LU20 and knew that the changes would require more than just ranged attacks. I was planning on using this fight as a confidence booster before I headed off to check out some KoS solo content. After a minute and a half of doing the cheap shot melee dance I survived the fight with 83 hps, only because I refused to run/evac from an encounter that would have taken ~30s pre LU20. It didn't help that one was a healer and I didn't have the dps to take it out before it blew all of its mana. The point is, I am <strong>lvl 60</strong>, I barely survived against an encounter that was deemed solo content and well below my level. I wear what I consider average gear (no fabled) and 90% of my skills are adept 1. In retrospect the biggest mistake I made in the fight is that I didn't use a poison, I really thought that even after the updates it wouldn't be necessary. During the fight I repeatedly used cheap shot, I used my dps buff and my haste buff. Except for the initial pull I was using the defensive stance. Had I used poison, maybe I would have survived with 20% health, it's hard to say and I really didn't feel like sticking around to find out. I don't expect encounters like this to be trivial just because I'm 4 lvls higher, but I really don't think that this is how solo encounters were intended.I ask this because I honestly don't know: <strong>Do other classes have this much difficulty with down arrow solo groups 4 levels below them?</strong> If they do, then I guess I have no reason to be upset.</p><p>As far as grouping goes,I think we went from being wanted in groups to being accepted. I wouldn't be surprised to see a return of the "I guess a ranger will do" or the *waves hand* "you're not the dps we're looking for" reply from a group looking for dps. In a group, if I'm not top dps it just means the fight will take longer, it usually doesn't mean that we will barely survive.</p><p>btw, I have a log of the harpy fight, and have parsed it (23 dps for each of them and 135 for me). I'm not sure the best way to post it. I would be curious to have a post game analysis of it by others.</p><p> </p>

<div></div><p>ugh... sounds bad. I should say off the bat im prolly not a very average ranger, in almost full fabled, all spells are adept 3 and up... so a lot of those solo encounters dont really do me much damage, while i can deal a semi decent amount back... i suppose this being the reason that i feel we are ok solo. Personally, i never use defensive stance EVER unless i am trainin, or harvesting with no intention of fighting. (basically for me its just a skill that lets me live to run away a little longer) I would say that for a ranger, your best defense is a full on assault of offense... but this can backfire quickly if u take an add, or if the mob gets a few lucky shots in...</p><p>Most importantly, i hardly ever solo, so i should correct my previous statement to say that I personally dont have a ton of trouble when i do...(healer mobs trash us now, for we cant burn them quickly enuff... your best bet is this. Attack healer mob with first CA, pref cullin of the weak for some dmg and a slow... immediatly switch to the other mob that is bum rushing you, and fire off 2 close combat CA's for a small amount of dmg... switch back to healer mob and burn him down. Seems that this confuses the healer mob into healing its friend instead of itself... giving u time to burn healer down quickly.) < this almost always works for me, but once again, i dont solo as often as it seems others do... I am primarily a raid ranger.</p><p>This is what i wanted this thread for!!! booyah!</p>
