<div></div><div></div><div>/rant on</div><div> </div><div>SOE, What is going on here.  I really would like to know.  We, the "overpowered" Rangers have been taken down to mediocre dps chumps.  OK, so you were fixing some "bugs."  That's great.  That's perfect.  But did fixing those bugs involve destroying a class?  Yes, I say destroying because what do Rangers do?  They certainly are NOT a utility class, they absolutely are NOT a tank class.  So what do they do?  Oh yea, that's right.  DAMAGE.  So lets fix the Ranger bug, what should we do?  Oh, I KNOW!  Lets reduce their DPS by 50%.  That's a wonderful idea.  "But the Rangers were making all their damage off of procs and poisons!"  WHO CARES?  That's like saying Mages make 1% of their DPS off of Melee, WHO CARES?  The last time I checked, an imbued rare bow is supposed to have the chance to proc each time it is fired.  I mean, that would make sense, right??  But no, in SOE's world, a bow procs when they want it to.  Oh, another thing.  Lets COMPLETELY IGNORE THEM when they ask what is going on or provide suggestions.  Oh, yes I know there have been a few instances where BG or someone else would post something saying how they are "looking into it," etc.  But this was a known issue.  There are other posts in the forums where people testing these changes let you all know about the defficiencies and how they would adversely affect the Ranger.  But obviously no one listened.  How do you think this reflects on you, SOE?  Badly.  And it's going to hit the wallet.  I'm not going to sit here and blow smoke about how me and all my friends and their friends and their cousins friends are quitting, because most of them aren't.  However there are alot of us--myself included--who are angry, no, furious about the total lack of SOE's customer service.  It looks to anyone that is paying attention that you all couldn't care less about our wellbeing or gaming experience.  I am going to hang around and hang on to any shred of hope I can find and pray that all the time I've invested in playing and learning my character aren't all for nothing.</div><div> </div><div>Thanks for destroying a toon I loved with all my heart.</div><div> </div><div>/rant off</div><div> </div><div>ReallyAngryGuy</div><div>57 Ranger</div><div>Guk</div><p>Message Edited by ReallyAngryGuy on <span class="date_text">02-23-2006</span><span class="time_text">02:04 PM</span></p>

This is to point out that these changes were so over the top that it moved alot of people to come here and post. I applaud him for coming here nad posting his discontent. This is the only way SOE is going to make any changes. Unfortunately, they are not going to come fast enough for most people. I</p><p>f there was a bug fine fix and then test or DPS in solo, group and raid and if we aren't T1 DPS change something to make is so we are.</p><p>It's absolutely crazy that you "fix" the bugs and play the wait and see game.</p><p>It's not like it wasn't posted on the forums that what you were planning was going to turn out this way.</p><p>BUT on top of this you change a bunch of other things that lower our DPS.</p><p>Stuns shortened, combat arts cast time lengthed, procs only on one hand, etc, etc, etc.</p><p>I really mad now too.</p><p>What really gets me is you release an expansion that had even tougher mobs in it than the mobs in the other areas and expect us to be happy to kill a mob and heal then kill another and heal while all the other classes chain pull mobs and get many times the exp. Plus we can't explore because we can't defend ourselves.</p><p>I died so much in KoS that I logged my Ranger and played my Pali.</p><p>To bad it will be 3 months before he can see KoS. If I'd known I NEVER would have bought KoS and now I feel cheated.</p>

i ask myself "why to 'fix' the ranger class"?? over month now, since lu13, we have been doing good, we felt like a real ranger class. we couldn't do anything but doing damage, as it should be for the ranger class. now, if we were so overpoweret, wouldn't we be the first class to reach levelcap, long bevor others, have more money, be better equiped... etc.we had no significant advantage of any other class. we were just average in any way.if you nerf us, then do it just a little, maybe. not put us absolutely gimped. procs nerfed, poison nerfed, (some) styles nerfed, mobs run faster, unable to kite... our damage went from top to almost non existent. and all this, hidden in a life update within kos.ranger just feels no more like ranger *very sad*56 Ranger from Valor

After that i'll watch the updates.Thanks for the great boards guys. we realy had some top notch help and great discussions.Sad to leave on a note like this. But I have no alts. I never had the interest. I only had my ranger. thats all I wanted to play. Now when i get the beat down by level blue's If i'm not at full health, I can no longer find any fun in this game.SOE has changed the game so many times there is NO sense of stability that is left in this game. You have to keep watching your back around the corner just to make sure you're not going to get the bat to the face. The only way SOE will understand is if we stop giving them money. I for one have cancelled my subscription a week ago. I still come here to see if things are changing (and I still have two weeks before my month is out), but apparently not. I am feeling the withdrawal. Who wouldn't after spending months levelling a toon? However, it's not so bad. What I miss the most are my guildmates. I started playing some other games. Check out RF Online. <div></div><div></div><p>I've been playing EQ2 since day 1 and have been a ranger since then. I picked a ranger because I have always played one in all the RPGs I've ever played. I did not pick the class because it was uber DPS, I just enjoy playing it. It enjoyed it pre LU13 and enjoyed it post LU13.</p><p>However... the changes that have been made in LU20 are totally over the top and have really sapped a good amount of the fun of playing for me. The proc nerf, the aggro nerf, the moving bow shot CA nerf, hell even Stream of Arrows is useless now (just as I am about to hit lvl 55 and have bought a pearl to get it to adp3). It appears that (from what I've been reading, don't flame me if I'm wrong) that we have been effected more than anyone else by the changes made and that really sucks.</p><p>I just hope one of the devs will actually read these complaints and do something about it. If they even just <strong>REPLIED</strong> to one of the many many posts on this subject, all over the boards, that would be a start. If they did SWG would not be as hosed up as it is. I am truly thinking Sony would like their Online game department to just die off.

The problem is I really dont think SOE holds it as any sort of priority on DPS teirs if they did they would fix:</p><p>Conj being top of the heap in DPS</p><p>Wizards being generally second rate compared to Warlocks</p><p>Off tanks often parsing higher than teir 1 dps (zerker and bruisers)</p><p> </p><p>Etc</p><p> </p><p>All together one has to gather that its not a priority (or in my opinion even a concern) for SOE develpment. This is not a new thing either how long were rangers subpar DPS before LU13?</p>

All I'm gettin these days are sympathy groups from my guild and those are disappearing quickly cause I can't log in without finding something else nerfed and gettin [Removed for Content] off and ranting about it :smileysad:. SOE had lots of input in beta about the ranger changes and none of it was good. Problem is they didn't listen. A guildy had a ranger in beta and he warned me of the upcoming changes. At the time I said ah they will fix it.
