View Full Version : Choosing an AA path...

I can't decide which of two paths I want to take... any insight? The two paths I was thinking about was the agi and int paths. I like the agi because of the ranged skill you get, plus i'd imagine if you maxed that out, you'd have a nice ranged attack that could potentially do upwards of 600+ (i'd imagine). then there's the ranged crit which would be very nice... the rest? not so sure about. The other path was the int, as int affects our poison dmg, the more int, the higher the dmg. Which can be a great thing, especially since poisons are generally every 6 seconds... i can only imagine a 200 dmg every 6 seconds getting a boost off the int to increase to possibly 250-300+ dmg per 6 seconds. then there's the added skill if the target is poisoned and the end poison of 120-200 per 6 second (at lvl 35).any insight? I have plenty of agi, so i dont really need any more of that, my int is lacking and could improve my poisons... decisions decisions.thanks in advance for any suggestions.<div></div>

Right now I wouldn't know what path to take. Until they figure out if they want rangers to be good at ranged combat or just use our CA's to pull so we can melee it to death I will wait to choose my path . . . that and my ranger is only lvl 45 atm <span>:smileyhappy:</span><div></div>

<div></div><p>actually, I was thinking the str line was looking pretty good now that I have to melee a lot. Can't remember the details though.</p><p> </p><p>Help me with something though. Str increases your autoattack but int increases your procs? what influences the dmg of your CAs?</p><p> </p><p>Tobi</p><p>45 Ranger</p>

<div></div><p>Strength increases all damage - CAs and autoattack</p><p>Int increases procs because SOE treats procs as spells</p><p>Elbryan60 Ranger</p>
<div></div>I am a woodelf what would I best be spending my AA on ? Strength ? I am afraid of anything to do with procs as they nerfed that so spending on intelligence although I am a woodelf and have very low intelligence would not be very smart. I have high agility and spending anymore on that seems overdone but they say you never can have enough or is there a cap. Strength or agility ?

<div></div><div>Ive been thinking about this alot and I am just going to wait on spending my AA points for a bit.</div><div>I have 3 points banked and 1 spent, so its not like using them right now will make that much of a difference.</div><div> </div><div>I am a strength junkie, but I am just not feeling the strength AA line at all. I prefer to raid/group over solo, so I really am not looking for more melee skills or melee critical chance. </div><div>This is why the agility line ranged critical chance and the int line spell critical chance is appealing to me. Also, I like the agility line reduced casting time on CAs and the crazy int line debuff.</div><div> </div><div>Anyone else like the agility and int lines?</div>

Looking at the final skill of the line... STR/AGI are clear winnerSTR: Sniper shot, Storm/Rain of arrows recast timer reduced by 50% and +10% damage (and chance to get crit while jousting)AGI: casting time of all CAs reduced by 35% (only good if doesnt affect the procs rate)Pre-LU20, AGI/INT line were the way to go, critical ranged + critial poison ... now poison is ±10% of my dps and i dont proc like a clockwork getting poison debuff and critical poison dont seem to be a huge deal anymore. That said, Im still trying to figure my AAs, i have 2 setup in mind#1Str: 4/4/4/8Agi: 4/4/4/8#2Str: 4/4/4Agi: 4/4/4Int: 4/4/4I have 6 aa so far, only unlocked Bounty, kinda waiting for the class to be fixed before going down further in a line<div></div>
