View Full Version : About poisons and the DoT
<div>I am not even going to fully appreciate or know about the terrible loss we are currently facing as my ranger is very low. I want however to understand how the poison effect works and whether this aspect has also been nerfed.</div><div> </div><div>I use several poisons I calculate which gives me the highest damage and usually make and use that together with a debuff which has been until now either heat/cold or the poison/disease one. Now what I need to know have these nerfs affected the DoT.Do they dot every 6 seconds or has that been nerfed too ?</div><div> </div><div>I am asking this since it is now taking me longer to kill things and I have changed to the piercing debuff since I am meleeing more I have to at least feel safe my poison is ticking away or has that been nerfed too and it is not ticking every 6 seconds and I am losing the damage over time.</div><div> </div><div>Thanks for any info on this.</div>

As far as I know the 6 second timer is still in effect for poisons.<div></div>

The DoT and other poisons work the same way, but the chance of them going off in the first place has been reduced significantly. So when your poison hits the mob (procs) it will be the same as always. However (and you're correct, you may notice this a lot more as you level up) the poison will not proc as much...and that's the reason you're seeing the Ranger boards in their current state. Our damage was heavily dependent on this, and by reducing that chance for it to proc they also dropped what we were capable of by a huge margin. The arguments center around the best way to adjust this.Sorry. On a tangent. So the simple short answer is don't worry about using poisons, keep using them religously because when they hit your targets they will work very well. The rest of the mess will have to get sorted out as time goes by. <span>:smileyhappy:</span><div></div>
<div>So am I to understand that if it procs the poison it will tick .However it is not procing as often as before so the dot is not working as much.I think that is really unfair considering you apply the poison and every arrow should have it. Ahh well that is another issue thnak you I understand and now I get why my damage is way down now.</div>
