2 points I can think of to start

According to Blackguard, mechanics for PvP and PvE servers is different (doubt it, but it could be true)

The ranger class is supposedly undergoing massive tweaking, but in it's current state is basically worthless

Assuming everything gets "fixed", I would say it comes down to play style...do you want to stealth up and 1 shot someone to death, or make pincushions :smileyhappy:

though at the moment, being a ranger is about as effective as shooting spitballs at someone.

Hiyas,I was in beta and I played a ranger as well as a bunch of other classes. Initially rangers were really powerful. They got toned down a little. My honest appraisal of them now is that they compare to other classes in pvp but like all the classes the amount of damage they deliver is situational. In other words, as a ranger you better be good at hit and run. If you really want to be be effective learn to partner up with a few other rangers or another ranged fighter. Emphasize mobility (Get a horse even though you have pathfinding when you can afford it...they will be important in the end game).Playing a berzerker ogre I could catch the little puny woodelfs with a stun and hold them down kicking and screaming as I pounded them into oblivion. HAR!As a ranger I could destroy my foe at a distance and get away frequently. My last battle as a ranger on beta I was teamed with another ranger and we were taking out people right and left. Then some ogres saw us and surrounded us and started to pound the living daylights out of us. My friend hit evac and we vanished out from under their noses. Must have been mildly frustrating for them People talk about bruisers and brigands having multistun. That may be a problem at some point. I think that level differences are going to be more of an issue than that as far as I can see.CheersTaku- Vanekor/Permafrost
