I play my ranger because of dps. Im not a roleplayer. More power to those who are. I'll play the class which does most dps when I feel like playing a dps class. I dont want to play a mediocre class. So, if rangers are nerfed so badly as live reports seem to suggest, I'll simply play another class. Im sure alot of old time rangers will rejoice and wish be well off, and I thank you. However, I just want to make it perfectly clear to SOE that people like me (and Im not that special) wont be playing a ranger when a wizard or conjurerwill outshine a ranger most of the time. Why on earth should I? I wont pay through my nose for sub-par dps.

And my ranger is of course an alt. My main is a healer, and Ive been playing healers for long its nearly a part of my identity. Im good at doing my job as a healer. I want to be good at every thing I do. So if SOE wants players like me to move away from the ranger class and have more ppl play conjies and wizzies when picking a dps alt/main, then they are certainly on the right track.

Lastly, I guess its impossible for SOE to please all. The wizzies were upset with ranger dps. Rangers are upset that SOE listened to them. Rangers are customers and so are wizzies. We claim that SOE hasnt been listening to their customers, because if they did, they wouldnt have introduced such an un-neuanced patch like this. However, they HAVE listened to their customers - its just not us they have listened to.

Dont like ? Dont play it. Move along.

Yes there are a number whines (and I know, I've done my share too since the changes were announced) but the volume on these, the Ranger forums is very telling.

Remember this is a class that has had it's share of adversity in the past. There has never been anything like this volume of negative posts previously. Even when we were trying to get fixed before #13 the Ranger forums tended to be a place of calm discussion and analysis.

Some might argue that the most noise is being made by the latecomer / powerlevelled types but I have seen long standing Rangers who have always used reason before whining/aggressive posting getting all bent out of shape over these changes.

The Ranger forums have always felt like a sea of calm and reason. Two things changed that: classes calling for nerfs to us directly in these forums and the #20 changes that we pretty much all believe to be ill-considered and under-tested.

I'm not surprised at the backlash and if nothing else, maybe the volume of posts alone might send a message to the Dev's.

Mirdo.

Message Edited by Mirdo on 02-22-200609:50 AM
