<div></div><div>To tell the truth, my playing tonight has been mixed. I'm a level 46 ranger. While soloing, level 44 solo and solo 1 arrow down mobs bested me 2 out of 3. In my usual group with my brother's 46 Guardian(man we can pick the classes can't we) we couldn't handle what we were used to, but were able to take down 1 level 38^^^ group mob. Soloing was unacceptable, grouped was unfortunate, but doable.</div><div> </div><div>Basically, what I am afraid has happened is this...that if one class owned the pvp servers, everyone else would scream at the top of their heads. If only one class was really gimped, well so what. They couldn't fix pvp without fixing this "bug". So, they broke faith. If they had truly been concerned with the balance, they would have made incremental changes with testing. They had a deadline they couldn't meet. So, pve got nerfed to accomodate pvp, which they said they wouldn't do.</div><div> </div><div>I don't want to bash SoE, because I love a lot about this game. The quests are so much fun, the variety of things to do keeps me interested, and the world is downright beautiful. On the other hand, the game still isn't ready for release in many ways, content is buggy in many places, and combat is downright bland.</div><div> </div><div>What the devs need to do is slow down. The imbued ring brouhaha shows exactly what is frustrating to so many. 3 changes in a few weeks. That should have been done on test, not on live servers. They just keep changing things, seemingly hoping that sooner or later, they will guess right.</div><div> </div><div>So BG, am I off-base? Does anyone care?</div><div> </div><div>I played EQ for 5 years as a ranger. Some of you will remember when EQ1 rangers were so gimped groups would go shorthanded rather than let us in. I played through it. In EQ1 we were jack-of-all-trades master-of-none. Rangers were one of the most difficult classes to play truly well. I love rangers, it's what I play, whether pen and paper, nwn, eq, or whatever. I wish that EQ2 rangers weren't just dps, but that is the hand we were dealt. I am glad they are taking us down a notch because I don't want to share a class with the min/maxers. I want a class with challenge, although that seems unlikely given the mechanics that leave little room for real strategy.</div><div> </div><div>Ok, well, I'll wander back to my inn room in Willow Wood. Here's truly hoping that the devs will read this and think about it, and that the loud mouthed idiots will find somewhere else to post.</div><div> </div><div>Edit:Sometimes coherence takes a couple tries</div><div> </div><p>Message Edited by mactell on <span class="date_text">02-22-2006</span><span class="time_text">01:10 AM</span></p>
