<div>I have officially retired my characters. I appreciate the useful information here in the Rangers forum. I was lurking long before I was posting. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div> </div><div>Obviously the tremendous nerf of the Ranger class is part of the impact. I find it hard to imagine completing many of the solo quests, or doing anything alone. We're extremely gimped in group and raid situations now. SOE might fix those things, but we know it could take weeks, months, never? A large reason for my retiring is the arrogant, bashing attitude from SOE. Not only did we try to suggest why the upcoming change was "bad", but we were then told we're just a bunch of whiny exploiters. SOE acts like this was some newly discovered bug, that players were secretely using to do more dps than intended. Uh, not so. It has been extensively discussed, and around so long this is an insane viewpoint. I would accept the argument that although it has been around a bit, it is a broken game mechanic that had to be brought in line. Fine, I happen to agree. Instead, SOE demeans the Ranger community by first insinuating that we're somehow taking advantage of something, and then by acting like our hard-won knowledge of our class is mistaken. More than 50% of our dps came from procs. Any Ranger with a parser can see this, yet SOE claims that it's just unknown. </div><div> </div><div>Now, Rangers are entering the cycle where they hope SOE will look at how they're gimped, and maybe fix them. Hey, I hope they get fixed, just like I thought the other T1 dps classes needed some positive adjustments. But SOE won't be collecting my money while they're doing this, and I hope other players reconsider giving them dollars while they take this tact with their customers.</div><div> </div><div>Finally, let me just say, I'm tired of hearing from other classes how I'm just some player who wants to be the "uber dps god". Sure, there are some Rangers where that is their goal, but most of us just want a fun class to play that is good at what they do. Pointing out problems, being ignored, and then being upset about it actually going out doesn't make me somebody who is mad they're not the dps god of the world anymore. You all who take that attitude with Rangers who are reasonable about what their class is supposed to do can take a long walk off of a short bridge.</div><div> </div><div>good luck to you all!</div><div> </div>

Hang in there bro and don't jump ship to soon.i am just as upset as you ... maybe even more cause have not reached 60 .... not even 50.but i will take a deep breath play an alt for a week or two and see what happens.i may even try doing a tradeskill while i wait and see what happens.one thing is for sure .... I can SOLO any harvest node i see LOL.SoE can you make an ability where i can trak / sort Harvest nodes like in WoW plz.anyway just give it a week or so i know i am.

<div></div><div>A week won't be long enough. First they must acknowledge there is a problem. This will not be easy because they've acted like we were just getting fixed. Second they have to figure out a way to give us more dps and some way to be able to solo again. Just increasing CAs a bit will not make Rangers viable soloers, or good group/raiders. And last it needs to be tested before being deployed. Figure a minimum of a few weeks.</div>

<div>We're extremely gimped in group and raid situations now. SOE might fix those things, but we know<strong> it could take weeks, months, never?</strong></div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div>Not trolling, the quote above just reminded me of the assassin forum after LU13.</div><div> </div><div>Comming from an assassin that was castrated in the LU13 changes, dont plan on them fixing you soon, it took them well over 4-5 months to get assassins back to an acceptable state.</div><div> </div><div>Honistly I feel for you guys and hope something is done soon to help you.</div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div>

<div></div><div>Yes. I'm glad the assassins got some fixin' cuz they were awful for a while. As a counter-example, I have a T6 warden who was unbelievably bad at healing after LU13 and it took a long time for SOE to even see the issue. I mean it was so bad that Wardens couldn't single-heal any heroic group with one add, even with upgraded spells. Heh.</div><div> </div><div>Will they fix it? I think so. There are some perma-nerfed classes like Guardians but I think with DPS classes it's fairly simple. If you get a bunch of data and their dps isn't up to par, then it's something that needs ot be fixed. With Guardians, SOE has this idea that they work even though they don't but it's not a number.</div>

It's too soon to toss in the towel yet... I'm in a wait & see mode as well hoping that SOE fixes some of the recent ranger changes. I just hate to think of all the time I've invested in my lvl 60 ranger to simply toss it away. We'll see though...-Joe<div></div>

<div></div>cya friend, sad to see ya go.. sad to see everyone thats leaving go... hell im sad to go.. but if things arent made better in some way or regard by the end of this week, im done myself. I think its time for some RL anyhow, until vanguard takes my money =p /sigh
<div></div><p>Sorry to see you leave, but I admire your departure post - good way to sum up your reasons for cancelling without resorting to a lot of flaming and bashing.</p><p>Unfortunately, those of you who are sticking around for a week or two in the hopes that there will be some drastic reaction from SOE are probably going to be disappointed. I don't think I'm being pessimistic in expecting it to take at least a month, maybe several months, before we get any attention. I wouldn't expect anything major til the next LU, personally. But these are all just guesses based on prior experience with SOE - I've never seen them respond quickly to a situation, and that's assuming they consider our plight to actually be a "situation" that needs more attention.</p>

<div></div><p>Unfortunately Jay I think you are right. This isn't something that will be fixed in a week or even a month. They won't go for a simple roll-back as they don't want us where we were - and anything else will need som fundamental adjustment of the ranger mechanic that just doesn't seem possible in a short time frame. I think it is either long-haul time, alt time or quit. :smileyindifferent:</p><p> </p>

Best of luck <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />I'm kind of feeling the same way, I just dont't have it in me to play another class. I loved playing the ranger so much, he was my first toon and the guy I identify with.I've gone past anger now, I just regret all the time I poured into my guy. November 2004, I dont want to tell you what my playtime is <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

I hate to see ya go man, but this is one of the best good byes I have seen. I'm with you on this, I've played EQ and EQ2 for a long time. They won't fix this anytime soon if ever, hell Blackguards post even tries to pass off some B$ on how they have someone playing a ranger and that we are exaggerating. Supposedly they have graphs and numbers to back this up but they won't share them... My account will expire in the middle of march. It won't be renewed...I am done with SOE. I think the gas price post above puts it best...Just can sum up SOE any better than that.<div></div>
