<div>in ALL the threads being posted here, with downright PROOF that what they are planning to do to the ranger class will bring us down below T1, proof in parsers, proof from beta, test ( I mean, isn't that what test is for? test things before they go live, fix it if it's not right?).</div><div> </div><div>Why have we had ZERO response from a dev on these forums? It's almost like they're scared to come against the proof that's in the pudding so to speak and defend themselves and come up with a plausible excuse as to why they caved to the whiners, or an excuse as to why they nerfed so poorly and in such a horrible fashion. I'd love to see each of them actually (try) to play a ranger in beta or test and specifically see what everyone is talking about. My ranger felt pretty useless after CU13, now she'll feel even more worthless after this patch. WTG sony!!</div>

But that's in the past now.We brought our concerns to their attention, and they presumably heard us. Today the changes go live. There's no more point in talking - there's nothing for them to say. Now it's time for us to play the game the best we can, and time for them to watch and see what happens. Our claims, over the last week, that this is going to be a major problem means that they'll hopefully be watching more carefully than they otherwise would. Maybe there are other factors that will come into play. Maybe there will be new emergent tecniques that we can take advantage of. (Ones that, hopefully, won't later be labelled "bugs" and "exploits".) Maybe not. But we have to try.And if our class is totally broken, after a while, we'll need to present our cases to the devs in a clear, level-headed, unified way, along with realistic suggestions about what should be done about it. We shouldn't replace others' whining with our own. Anyway, you can bet the devs have been in a hard crunch mode lately trying to get the release out. Give them a couple days to rest. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></span><div></div>

<div></div><p>For any of you that are going to continue playing your rangers, you need to accept the <strong>very real</strong> possibility that they may not fix rangers for a very very long time, if ever! Case in point: EQ1</p><p>You don't think they read this? You're crazy. They know we're piss3d. We're not the first class to get insta-gimped, and we'll surely not be the last. They are used to having lots of people piss3d at them. I think they get off on it or something. Or maybe they truly suck at life. I'd like to meet the re [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] that makes these design decisions though. Somebody can't see the forest for all the trees in the way. I mean c'mon!!!</p>

I'm guessing they are probably undermaned and facing deadlines for release if they want to keep head above water with Vangaurd and Wow out there. The attitude of release unfinished software in PC games unfortunatly is the norm now adays.... Heck I'll just patch it later is the attitude on software Devs.</p><p>When KOS does go live the dev team will prioritize fixes. Types of things I susptect that takes priority are exploits... dupes... Game crashes... Stuff that would keep people from giving them thier money. Things that are slow to change are class changes and the like.</p><p>I'm guessing 6 months at the soonest we will be fixed.</p>

<div>Kos was a direct response to DDO, it is released this week as well. The changes who knows, its definitely not in the name of balancing though.</div>

People at SoE have never fixed or tuned a nerf after the fact.We got the shaft and will have to live with it, or go find another game to play. It's just that simple. SoE doesn't listen, nor does it care. It just wants your $$. And it seems, they don't even want it all that badly.<div></div>

<div></div><div>I recall a number of changes that were later changed again (de-nerfed) through other alterations.</div><div> </div><div>I am sure something similar will happen when they realize how bad this is.</div><div> </div><div>I am a little concerned though. Not only are they lowering procs for poisons, but somewhere I read they are actually lowering the base damage from weapons. One nerf is bad enough, but two in the same class is going to cripple our soloing. On a lighter note I read about speed changes, if we get more speed kiting is back. Might not be the same kiting, but autoattack (bow) and the occassional moving ca + cheap shot + stationary ca will bring back kiting in some form.</div><p>Message Edited by StealthM0de on <span class="date_text">02-21-2006</span><span class="time_text">08:12 AM</span></p>
