Ranger State of the Union. Night before KOS

Well thought tonight would be a good time to make a post about what rangers are going to look like in the morning and talk a bit about KOS.First the good news.1. Stream of arrows has a chance to proc on every "tick".  This proc is based off of 1.5 secs cast time tho so they are rare but at least it procs more than once.2. KOS looks pretty nice.  Some of the zones are definately not something seen in the game till now.  Loot also has come a long way.  Lots of different cool effects and procs. So that's something to look forward to.  I think this is going to be a good expansion and am kinda excited to start the leveling.3. Our L65 special art is Hawk Dive.  At M1 while it's out 30secs every 2 min it reduces group aggro except tanks by 24% which is nice.  Art could be better but like it more than some others.4. Crafted armor is nice and we have different sets with different stats to choose from.Then the bad news.1. Crafted rare weapons are treasured and at the present time will not hit named epics.  This is sup'd to be fixed sometime.2. Primal Agility has been nerfed.  At M1 it's going from 55% to 41% and will never see another upgrade from my understanding.3. The arrows summoned by the new T7 art are labeled as L50. So they don't do the damage they should from autoattack.  Hopefully being fixed.4. Imbued strength rings proc on melee attacks.  We'll almost never see the proc so useless.5. After the changes to procs we are extremely [Removed for Content] now. Will explain on down.6. Strength cap increase.  So for our T6 or lower arts we have to add 70 str to do the same damage as L60 at L70Damage is really bad.  Did a T7 raid last nice while at L70 with all T7 combat arts at M1 level.  No AA's and was about 60 strenght from the cap of 510.  My best parse was in the 600's and I was going full burn almost every fight.  That puts us at about low T3 damage.  Was constantly outdps'd by brigands,swashies, and necros.  And was even outdps'd on quite a few (more than half) by bruiser, sk, and guardian.  Pretty much the only classes I was consistant in beating were priests. This was going full out. I'm gonna assume that I may have broken 700 dps on a few fights if I had 510 str but without proc from strength ring or strength buff this is going to take fairly specific group setup.  From this raid can say that one of the winners in T7 was necro.  Pretty much every fight he parsed over 1200 which was a big increase over T6 numbers.  Have not seen parse from assassin or warlock but thinking that assassin is going to be doing as much or more than we were before the changes seeing as how swashbuckler/brigand are pretty much the same or better than they were in T6. We are also one of the biggest power hogs in the game again.  Basically we went back to exactly the same place we were before the combat revamp.What can I say part of me is looking forward to the new expansion but when I should be happy about all the nice stuff that's in store for us I can't help but feel a bit depressed knowing that it'll probably be the next expansion before we get any fixes.<div></div>

Man this sounds kind of depressing. First my Guardian is gimped in update 13,now my Ranger is getting gimped in update 20. I hope its not just me they are picking on and all you other Rangers are caught in the crossfire!. At this pooint all I can do is to see how it looks after Tues. before making any decisions. I would like to be able to find a charecter that stays fun to play for longer than a couple of months though.Buaf..55 Ranger  Befallen<div></div>

They're a Scout so not alien to you, and a lot of fun.</p>

<div></div><div></div>I'll be in Planetside til the dust clears from the KoS release.  I'm not going to play while the devs are swinging around the nerf bat without care, it only pisses me off more.  Dealing with it in beta was enough for me. <div></div><div></div>Stunts like this really put life into perspective..... This GAME is supposed to provide enjoyment, pleasure... I don't need to pay money to get drepressing news and be demotivated. For that matter its a good thing WoW sucks so bad, things like this make it all to easy to click a different Icon and give some one else the money.This is truly depressing, not because rangers are not top dps any more. Just simply because it shows that this game is no different then EQ1.   SOE will continuously change and nerf classes until????  This has just taken the wind out of my sails.  Only cause I see that IF I stay with this game over the next 4 years like EQ1 the end will be the same.Congratulations SOE, you had a truly fun class.that the masses enjoyed playing; and you destroyed it.  !!!!!  So since you took away the mass damage you gave rangers to COMPENSATE for the lack of kiting ability. How are we supposed to solo? You take the big damage give back kiting then!  Oh wait SOE doesn't want us to be able to solo, and oh well groups have no desire for Rangers if we do same dps as troubs , brigs, dirgs, and less then all the finger wrigglers.  I wont make a new toon, or replace my ranger. I 'll just watch the lfg flag remain as part of my title and become a writ farmer. Cause once at LVL 50 anything of any significance hits so hard that our flimsly chain armor is butter.As for the crying Wizzys n Warlocks... I'll reiterate ya ya you dont have to pay to play! Further More..... You can use your HUGE NUKE 5k+ over n over with the mob at point blank or not! Rangers only get to have our Big dmg for one maybe 2 shots. We cant cycle 5k boom every 5 secs like a wiz or 3500 every 3 seconds like warlocks with just the click of a button. So get over your selves. We Rangers Pay a hell of a lot of coinage to do dmg, and Pay copius amounts of money for the weaps to do the damage with.  The real issue is Ranger players have to put effort, mass effort and investment into getting our damage up. Not counting upgradeing CA's cause everyone has to do that. Wizys n warlocks just get a new spell WEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee mad dmg.. Point blank, from afar, over n over n over, and its Free!   And Rangers had it good? Maybe cause Ranger players put in the effort, I have a warlock n wiz too.. ya real hard.. 1 stat to increase INT.  which buttons do most damage..? oh those 2 ok.. ready..  takes little to no effort to get max damage.  I believe I am correct in guessing most Ranger players got bored when they tried a nuker. Only skill it takes it holding your oats till mob is down to 60-80% or so then unleasing with your bigggest nukes.. oh yea maybe dispell the mob or sometin.. point is.. Rangers take strategy and thinking, prior planning, proper equipment.I'd make a priest class so I dont have to worry bout killing the monster but I am afraid to spend another year bringin up another toon that I think is the bomb only to have it made into a marshmellow wannabe.Ok so I ranted a little.. I deleted a bunch to thin it out.. still too many thoughts and emotions..
