"The fix absolutely should be applied to everyone, or else it isn't a fix. While the ranger class can be used to illustrate why this fix was important, it wasn't made only because of them.
Balance decisions were made in preparation for LU13 without knowing that these bugs were present to distort the results. Some rough edges we can live with, but we are unwilling to go into a whole new realm of damage output with these issues still present. Adding 10 to the level cap and introducing achievements will make players that much more powerful; leaving in bugs would result in the 4000 DPS rangers that BG mentioned in his post.

Taunts were also designed with certain degrees of player damage output in mind. The reduction in bugged procs will affect fighters less than scouts, so it will likely be a bit easier to hold aggro with a scout in the group. But again, aggro management is the job of everyone, not just fighters.

As we've said several times already, we'll watch how all this plays out in practice and will adjust any factors we believe necessary.-- moorguard"

am i just too drunk now or did a dev just post about 4k dps ranger... .. HAHAHAHA!! /wipe tears HAHAHAHA!

seriously im starting to think they play mahjong and never ever rolled a char in eq2..

its possible to hit 4000 DPS, on a mob with 4000 HP's and using our snipe shot .. lol.. thats the only way a ranger will hit that kind of DPS, on a weak mob.. absoloutly no way it was on an evan con, solo or grouped in a battle that lasted more than 4 seconds.

I think it means with an additional 10 levels and AAs the old proc system could see rangers hitting 4000dps if changes weren't made.

Top DPS were consistantly Conj, Illu, Wizz, Swashy, and Ranger.I'd like to know where the 4k number came from myself since it's causing such an uproar. If Rangers were doin 4k DPS in a 1 minute or more long fight, then yeah, there needed to be a change. If they were doin 4k DPS in a 3 second slaughter, I see no issue as I do that now on live.Sure would be nice if SOE would toss us a bone of info and clarify what condition this happened under. And if it was due to AAs, then fix the freakin AAs, don't cut my damage in half without them.

Message Edited by Dirtgirl on 02-20-200604:59 PM

The 4k DPS was obviously made by Blackguard in some attempt to justify the change. From his later posts it's pretty obvious he has little or no understanding of the game mechanics so it's rather pointless quoting it.
