View Full Version : Duo Ranger , should I worry
<p>The real question for me</p><p>I dual box a Ranger and a Mystic, both 60 in a nice mix of fabled and legendary gear and am curious if all these nerfs are going to render this nice little dual box combo obsolete or simply throw us back to pre LU13 obscurity. While I enjoyed killing Heroic encounters and lesser named Heroics I have found that mass slaughetring solo mobs about 3-4 levels above me gave the best exp gain / vendor trash loot gain per hour. For those who played in beta how well could you "solo" if you had a decently equipped mostly adept 3 / few master mystic trailing behind you ?</p>

<div></div><div>Yes you should worry. See other threads on soloing which will be similar to duoing - or any case where the ranger is the "MT". You're going to lose a lot of "range burst" damage, so the mobs will not be hurt nearly as much when they get to you. Once they are close, the Ranger lacks an effective melee arsenal and has to rely on stun to joust out and do some damage. Problem is, when they get to you with 90% health instead of 50%, and your damage burst you do when you stun and back off only chops off 10%, it's going to really be ineffective. </div><div> </div><div>Basically, Rangers will be much worse off than mages because although we have armor, we have no capability for doing any real damage when they're close. It has worked so far because we can hit really hard, both for the initial damage and the stun/back off damage, but that is going away.</div><div> </div><div>You could consider betraying to an assassin, I guess. At least they have some decent melee skills.</div><div> </div>
