I started playing EQ2 the day it was released. I ran my character up to 42nd level as quickly as I could, and then promptly left EQ2. After a year's hiatus I am back.I have been playing again for a few weeks, and from all of my readings on the internet, and from discussions with other players, Strength is the most valuable attribute for rangers. A year and a half ago, when I started playing EQ2, Agility was the most important attribute. In the past few days, however, I have noticed several high-level rangers on my server who focus on their agility over their strength. So, I have to ask...which is more important to a ranger, strength or agility?1. Why is one more important than the other?2. What exactly does each one do?3. Does strength only affect your melee damage, or does it affect your melee and bow damage?4. Besides avoidance, what else does Agility do?5. Am I even right in assuming that strength and agility are the two most important attributes to a ranger? Is there some other attribute that is more important?6. Rank the attributes in order of importance.

<b><u>AGI</u></b><ul><li>Power pool.  (we don't run OOP very often, so this is not very important)</li><li>Avoidance.   (it takes a lot of AGI to raise your avoidance a significant amount)</li><li>Very easy to find on most scout gear.  We also buff our own AGI with two separate buffs (one is defensive stance).</li></ul><u><b>STR</b></u><ul><li>Increases combat art and melee attack damage (probably our most important attribute).</li><li>Increases how much you can carry.</li><li>Generally harder to find than AGI, especially because we cannot buff it.</li></ul>All in all, most scouts go STR STR STR and I haven't yet found a reason to disagree.  As of now on live, my self-buffed STR is 319 and my self-buffed AGI (in offensive stance) is 279.For the moment, our secondary damage stat is INT (because it affects proc damage which includes poison), but procs are going to be a much smaller % of our damage soon so it is probably a waste to focus on INT at this time.<div></div>

<div>As I've stated in other posts after LU 20 I'd go STR and Haste as much as you can get.  Some STA might be good too since if you solo any your going to need it I bet.   It's just my recommendation though.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div> </div><div>Falcon</div><div>60 Ranger</div><div>Kithicor </div>

After the wild changes of the last couple LUs, I'm not doing squat with my gear.  Maybe a couple weeks after LU20 I might, but for now... Heck no.<div></div>
