View Full Version : I'm a pessimist, really!
<div>In the last several weeks I've heard a variety of comments about me and my posts, my general attitude here. I've been called a lot of things in my time, but "happy go lucky" (just one example) wasn't one of them. I guess you'd have to know me personally to really appreciate the irony, but I'm really not a blind optimist - so being called that (when most of my friends and family tease me for being pessimistic, which I staunchly defend as realism) is damned hilarious.</div><div> </div><div>Anyway I was just writing a post about poisons and realized it's a pretty 'glass half empty' outlook. Shocker! Hope y'all can handle it. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></div><div> </div><div>But FWIW, here's your daily does of kerran sunshine: I'm glad to see things settling down here, and I assume all of the peeps that freaked over the changes are learning to deal with them and continue playing. Hope so, at least. Life's too short to let negativity ruin your good time, and this is a game, after all.</div>

<div></div><p>Jay,</p><p>you are one of the few forum posters that i have seen that are reasonable about your posts. Any one that has read your posts from the begining (like i have) would see that you are not "happy go lucky" i am not sue i would say pessimistic, but deffinately not happy go lucky. </p><p>from what i have seen you have tended to post about tactics to keep playing our class despite whatever issues arise. </p><p>It seems to me that the people that call you happy go lucky, didn't play rangers pre LU13 or didn't read the posts before then. How glad i am that THOSE days are behind us. As a result not too many of them realize that these things are minor compared to what those of us who have been around a while had to deal with.</p><p>anyway, just wanted to lend my support to you.</p><p>May your arrows fly true, and you enimies quiver at your sight.</p>
<div></div><p>Hey Tran, thanks very much for the kind words! I'm not trying to paint any picture of what the "right" attitude is to have and I certainly don't want to drive a wedge between those of us that have played rangers for a while vs those who recently joined the class...that's just pointless and divisive. I just had to laugh at the perspectives some folks seem to have regarding my own attitude. I guess I tend to check my own gloom-and-doom (and it's there, believe me) at the door when I come and post here. It's just hilarious seeing ppl label me as blindly optimistic, though, b/c any good friend of mine will tell you that I'm most often found on the other end of the spectrum. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> (Realism I tell you!!)</p>

<div></div>just because you know how to be constructive doesnt make you happy go lucky. [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]ing ranting and raving doesn't get you anything but ignored (eventually anyway) in the real world - nobody will take abuse like some we've seen for very long. Keep leading Kae, pessimist or not there will be plenty who follow.
<div></div>Just wanted to add...great work in these forums folks. A lot of us read more than post and your efforts are MUCH appreciated !
