<div>I recently dinged 50 (and 51 a few days after).  I"m now looking to get myself geared up with the right equipment appropriate for my level.  I'm currently thinking of doing a full set of cobalt armor (imbued chest, but not imbued leggings).  I can't decide whether I should replace FBSS with the cobalt belt or not?  Thoughts?</div><div> </div><div>I've not been keeping up on the changes affecting jewelry... What is suggested equipment for the all the equipment on the right-hand side?</div><div> </div><div>I've got the coin and rares saved up to do all the armor now and then upgrade my jewelry as I build my bank account back up.  Looking for feedback/suggestions.</div><div> </div><div>Thanks all</div><div> </div><div>Traston - 51 Ranger - Oasis</div>

<div></div><div>be mindful KoS is just around the corner. If i was you i would sell all but 4 cobalt (chest, legs, 2 swords), keep 2x vanadium for rings, get the FBSS belt unless u have another haste item. Unless you are rich sell what you don't need as you will probably find you will cruise through the 50's and if you aren't raiding i wouldn't worry too much about equipment.</div><div> </div><div>Spell-wise its much the same. Adp1 > Adp3/master1 is significant if you dinged 60 like 4 months ago, but KoS will replace many of the spells again and you can in my opinion get by on adp 1's until such time. This is all based on available cash etc.</div><div> </div><div>Sell what you dont need asap and save up for the expansion.</div><div> </div><div>- 60th Ranger</div><div>- 57th Pally</div><p>Message Edited by Siphar on <span class="date_text">02-09-2006</span><span class="time_text">10:50 PM</span></p>

<div>My Ranger's 54 now, and I've upgraded most of my slots to T6 stuff recently. Depending on your play style, you may or may not be able to blow through T6 quickly. I tend not to do a lot of XP grinds, usually find myself in small groups or duos running quests and stuff. So far the 50's have seemed to really drag out for me. I had a long layoff from my Ranger, so I've had full vitality all the way from 50-54, and at least a full bar through the next level. Still seems to go slow if I'm watching the XP bar, but that's just a result of my play style.</div><div> </div><div>One option you might consider (I'm sure you'll get some conflicting opinions from other Rangers, lol), is your armor choice. Check the prices on your server for leather vs. chain. I ended up with a full set of Scaled leather, and will probably continue that path in T7. It's the first set of leather I've equipped since the AQ's in my 20's, and been really happy with it. I'm hardly ever solo anymore, so I wasn't that concerned with the difference in mitigation. If I happen to be soloing or tanking in a duo/small group the avoidance makes it tough for level appropriate mobs to hit me. I'm around 50% avoidance self buffed in defensive mode, and in my most common grouping with a mid-40s Fury I'm around 60% and his mitigation buffs help offset the mitigation differences between leather/chain. The stats are identical other than mitigation/avoidance.</div><div> </div><div>The cost for my full set off the broker was less than half the cost of chain. I have a lower level Tailor and since buying my Scaled set and I've started picking cheap T6 hides off the broker for future use. I've got 3-4 for 5g and regularly see them for around 10g. Compare that to cobalt on my server which I've seen range on the low end from 50-70g depending on market saturation. It might be worth considering trading your extra cobalts in for hides and using the extra gold for spells/jewelry.</div><div> </div><div>Definitely pick up a couple cobalt dual-wields. The imbued versions all have identical stats and only differ in speed/damage, basically just pick the one you think looks best. There's more variety in the non-imbueds, so you can shop those based on balancing stats - they all have +STR and +AGI totalling 28 stat points (if I remember right), plus Health and Power. If you decide to go with 2 imbueds (+10 STA, lower STR and AGI than the non-imbued), you might want to have one made non-pristine (slightly lower stats) so the procs will stack. Personally I went with one slasher (spatha) and one piercing (spear) and made one non-imbued to bump my STR and AGI stats. If you have some extra cobalts you could go 2 each slash/pierce and swap out to match mob resistances. I just kept my 2 heritage weapons to swap another pierce or slash in if needed.</div><div> </div><div>I made the mistake of buying a STR Vanadium ring, and wish I had waited to see how the ring changes work out. Right now, it looks like it's not going to proc off my bow so may end up being pretty worthless in the situations where STR was most important to me (group damage dealer). In hindsight I probably would have either waited or went with the AGI ring which appear to proc off our CA's (including bow I would assume). If you think you can rip through your 50's before the ring changes go live, the STR rings are reaallly nice atm. You might also opt to hedge your bets and go with non-legendary crafted rings and still get some nice stacking stat bonuses (cheaply) while waiting to see how the rings are finally implemented.</div><div> </div><div>If you decided to go leather and sell your extra cobalts, you might even be able to find some nice Fabled items on the broker with the money you saved. There's some common ones that drop in the DoF zones that I've occasionally seen on the broker for a plat or less. Off the top of my head, I recall some decent jewelery, a shield, I think there was a sabre and some miscellaneous chest/shoulder pieces that seemed to have some nice stats available pretty cheap. Their not the uber-Fabled raid drops, but still better than most of the legendary equivalents.</div><div> </div><div>There's also some decent jewelry you can get from some of the easy quests in Sinking Sands and Maj'Dul. Nothing really uber-fantastic, but the quests are easy and they're quick upgrades to some of the T5 legendary stuff.</div><div> </div><div>Heheh...well that was more longwinded than I intended, but hopeful it gives you some ideas.</div>
