Race doesn't matter much - it's not long before your gear impacts your stats more than your starting race.  So, pick the one you like best (which of course is the halfling!  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />As far as stats to improve, at the moment the most common ranking puts strength first since it impacts how much damage you dish from ranged and melee combat.  Int affects how much damage poisons proc (or at least, I think it still does).  Agility affects your power pool, but Rangers don't often have a power problem.  Agility will also increase your avoidance - which matters when you're soloing, but shouldn't be a factor in a group - the mob is supposed to be paying attention to the tank.Have fun with your Ranger!<div></div>

I just heard Ratongas get a racial ability that lowers agro by 1000+. If I were starting a new toon I would definately consider betraying....<div></div>

My Halfling Ranger has a 2k+ hate reducing racial skill. Very handy now our guild has started raiding and master taunts are few and far between <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Mirdo.<div></div>

Those racial hate reducers are on long recast timers though, I believe. They're "reverse rescues" more than "reverse taunts".<div></div>
