Now that we're allowed to choose which writs we're assigned, it might be worth comparing notes on which are best. (For my part, I usually only worry about solo writs.)Qeynos Low 40's:+ Encaged in Ice - Everfrost - kill Ice Frights (skeletons). Easy to get to: they're right inside the eastern cave. They're plentiful, but not so crowded that adds are likely. Qeynos High 40's:+ Tempest Tossed - Everfrost - kill Kromrise Hermits. Back in the ice float area you can make a circle around the spire, killing Hermits as you go. They respawn quickly enough that you don't waste much time.+ Rolling Home & Sacrifice to the Six Hammers - Lavastorm - kill Living Magmas. These are globby fire elemental things in the lava rivers and pools, solo 1-down-arrow. Really low on hit points, so they're easy to kill before they get to you. I've never seen anyone else hunting them. I suppose that as rangers, we're especially good at getting at them.

Good topic, I was curious about this...

I will have to check when I get home, but there are writs (the high level DoF ones) you can get that all require you to go under the eye of anuk? maybe that is the name, but basically you go down the chimney in SS and there are bladefuries there and some elementals...

You can actually get all four factions to give you a writ there...makes it nice and easy to get 24k status

I will check later tonight (if Faydark is finished becoming Befallen), and post the names later.

Peace Health and Happiness

Saihung

Indeed, I wouldn't mind at all a tier by tier solo writ list. Especially since you don't have to be guilded to gain status (that's such a good idea). I never bothered with writs because alone I couldn't raise any status. Can anyone enlighten me? A writs 101 so to speak?

Here is what I know, Hope it helps. Rather then simply put in the titles I'll try to make this "guide like".The largest part of writs is to do them for as many factions as possible at the same time. My experience with the lower level writs is not that keen, I didn't really focus on writs until I hit 44. At level 44 we still lost faction with one group when we gained with another, so I only worked for the Tunarian Aliance.I would have liked to do the writs for the "Soothfoot Peons" since they were close to the front of Lavastorm, and dropped good loot. But alas, a plat farmer monopolized the area, and I ventured out to the Magma Worms and Living Magmas for my writs. There are patrolling goblins, ^^^ and they see through stealth, it will take some watching and learning to find where you can safely run them off. I was only killing the magma worms or living magmas, and got fairly fast at it. (I could complete one round trip in 20min or less if I could get a cleric to send me home.) In 30 days I became the highest guild status contributor in the largest guild on my server. (A title I have since lost by 2 places). After the change adding high level writs, and allowing us to gain faction with multiple factions simultaneously I like the sandscrawler writs. For the Tunarian Alliance (Scouts) you get the one for Sandscrawler Thives, for the Celestial Watch (Priests) you get Anzal Mal Diviners (sp?), for the Qeynos Guard (Fighters) get Sandscrawler Grunts, and for The Concordium (Mages) get Sandscrawler Magus.Head to SS, take the carpet to Twin Tears. When you land, mount up if you have one, bring up tracking, set the filter to "div" then close the tracking window and reopen (if you don't you be looking for "divwwwwwwwwwww". :smileywink: Head down towards the tent on your west (right), take down all of the gnoll groups that have diviners. Save Storm of arrows for a group with more then 3, you'll be glad you did. There are four to five groups on the "top" of the tear, get those first, then head to the bottom. Keep an eye out for patrols and bear in mind they are social. (Attacking one that passes near others will pull the entire group to you.) With the diviners eliminated head for the sandscrawlers in the northwest (upper right of the map). On your way change your search filter to "sa" you can make it "san" but then you miss "Sawgrin" (a named!). Once you get all of your sandscrawlers head back to the diviners, if you're lucky you get all 20 diviners in two passes. Usually I have to make three passes, and they take a while to repop. But there are lots of creatures to slay and farm for coin while you're waiting.I'm not sure if this was coherent but I hope it helps.PS. To the person who said that the writs don't generate status, I had always thought that too, but started doing writs just to get a prefix title, in 30 days I had arround 70,000 status in my guild. You can see my current total on my sig, that only has 2 HQs in it.

Thanks for the feedback. Are those sandcrawler groups solo or heroic? Any feel for what levels you need to be to do them (solo or grouped)?

The mobs are solo (I don't think Sawgrin is even heroic, but I'm not sure). As far as the group configuration, if they are groups of two they both have two down arrows, if they are groups of three two have three downs, one has two downs.Sawgrin is the exception, he has no arrows, the two that are with him have two down. That group is always casters I think... I'm not sure what level you would need to be, they are green at 60, but that probably doesn't help you much...Looking at my level history I began leveling in SS at 49, so I expect you should be able to do them approx at that level. (I only did writs from level 44, aside from soloing in PoF to finish off a level). There are also solo sandscrawlers walking around, they can be any type as well. I enjoy doing these with a tank when I can find one who will stick with it for a few hours on end. That way if we get an add (the dinos out there are mean, even at 60, they are green ^^^ and can tear me up if I try to go toe-to-toe.) The tank can hold them, I stalk, use Snipers Shot, then Stream and loot the corpse. When doing these writs I make about a plat an hour too.

Has anyone had a problem with this? When I got my writs only one gave me a choice and that was the concortium. Anyone else see this happen? Also what are some good ones for a 31 Ranger? Some of the writs I got had only 33 heroic groups of 5 mobs to choose from.Woodfire and his trusty sidekick Splinters31 Ranger 75th RegimentHighkeep (soon to be crashing butcherblocks party)Servants of ElizurTrader of collectibles pst me anytime
