Rangers still top DPS?

<div>See my friend and i are forming a group to always play with, He is going to be a Guardian, hes friend is going to be a healer of some sort, now we need DPS. Would ranger be the best bet? Any suggestions and etc would be great to, (i was also thinking about necro but im not sure how there dps even is)</div>

<div></div>The ranger is at the top of DPS but is also a very selfish class due to it being a good solo one. You might be better off going with a swashbuckler that has high DPS but also alot of debuffs to hit the enemy with to help your team live. Also swashbucklers have a whole line of abilities to shift their hate onto your main tank so you don't need to hold back your attacks near as much while your fighter taunts.

<div>If DPS is your goal, you'd be much better off playing a wizard or a warlock.  They both have higher DPS than a Ranger and they both offer utilitites to the rest of the group that increases their DPS.  Plus, they don't pay for their DPS.</div><div> </div><div>There is only one reason to play a Ranger and that's because you want to be a Ranger.  You'll have decent DPS, but that's about it.  And, you'll only have decent DPS if you pay for it.  For every 3 plat you get adventuring, you'll spend about 1 plat in poisons.</div><div> </div><div>With all that said, Rangers are without a doubt the most challenging and therfore the most fun to play.</div><div> </div><div>Oh ya, almost forgot.  My wifes Templar is now the DPS in the familiy.  I'm nothing more than eye candy.:smileywink:</div>

<div></div><p>If  you have tank and healer than ya, a ranger will easily be the best DPS for it. When your trioing heroics you dont need to bother with utility or debuffs as you'll just kill it all fast regardless. And with your 2 hate reducers you prolly wont pull aggro if you use them on fights. so rangers FTW.
