I am thinking of rolling a ranger to try out LU19. I am a bit unclear on the stats (even after reading many posts here) and was hoping someone could clarify. Agi is the primary stat, so this affects power pool I imagine. But does this affect anything else (besides avoidance), i.e. damage/accuracy/proc rate? And I heard int affects poison procs, is this true? Thanks in advance.

No, only powerpool and avoidance....so screw AGI, go STR all the way. Roll a barbarian, they get 3 different racial traits to up your STR as well. i rolled my ranger back when STR didn't determine dmg so I went woodelf, and if I coudl change it I would change him to barbarian. ALso INT is not bad to have either so get good STR/INT gear.

LeoricLevel 60 ranger

I concur on the Str/Int thing. Rangers geta nice agi buff anyways, and it is rather hard to run out of power as it stands. I made a Ranger to try out the new low levels and he is pretty tough, much like a Ranger at the higher levels.Aside from that..Go with SOGA Wood Elf.. aesthetics > min/maxxing. Surely the extra Str would be nice, but what matters most is proper knowledge of how to play your class, most especially a good grasp on aggro management (your generation of, and the tanks).Merkades, 60th Ranger.Siege, Najena.Edit - To clarify, when I say this I am not actually meaning to not pull aggro, that is basic. What I mean is to be as close to second/third on the aggro list as possible. Imo, we should always strive to be as close to taking aggro as we can *without* actually doing so. I have found alot of classes play it entirely too safe. I have seen people essentially wasting anti aggro skills because they generate so little hate to begin with.Honestly, some peeps need to group with their MT more, and need to purposefully steal aggro to see what the threshold is. And maybe listen to the tank if he calls a taunt resist/watch to make sure his power is not out. And finally, be prepared to move to the tank (away from the other peeps so they don't get AE'd) to prevent mass killings... And have the mob targetted, not the tank, cause then it is harder to tell if the mob has you targetted.
Message Edited by Merkades on 02-03-200601:19 AM
