It seemed like every group I joined yesterday was like I am sorry to hear that you guys are being nerfed tomorrow. I was like what are you talking about? And they said that some major nerfs were coming in the next patch/live update. Well being that I try and keep up here for any news to our class I was dumbfounded cause I am completely unaware of any major changes to us. Anyone else hear this or hear of this?

Message Edited by Kasman on 02-02-200608:04 AM

Message Edited by Kasman on 02-02-200608:33 AM

Your question is intractably vague. There are lots of changes coming up, game-wide. Some people will see them as nerfs. Some won't. For most of them, we don't have enough information to even speculate reasonably.

Oops. I guess there was more to your question. Must have been a forum bug or something. There are a few things going on, although nothing solid.1. Procs from melee weapons on bows: right now, some of our melee weapons will proc when we fire our bows, allowing us to increase our damage potential. I haven't heard of a specific date, but the devs have claimed they're going to fix that bug. They've claimed that before, too - it must be a particularly tricky piece of code.2. Poisons (and potions) are getting a revamp: There will still be common and rare poisons (for a while they planned on getting rid of rares), but they're streamlining the names, the manufacturing process, and effects. It's possible the damage will be reduced or something in the process, but I haven't seen any numbers yet. Note that some new poisons types are planned though: deagro poisons, lifetap poisons, etc. I'm sure there are people who'll be upset, but there's no evidence that this is a nerf.3. Adept3 recipe changes: They're changing all tradeskill recipes. In particular, they're changing the rares used for different archetype's upgrades to be different from one another. No longer will all adept3's be made from gems & soft metal: now one archetype will get gems, one ores, and one a new type of harvest. I don't know the details. But if anyone's adept3's get stuck competing with armor ore, that's going to hurt the cost.

Ok yeah it was vague cause I had no info to go off of. Me personally I did not see any of the upcoming changes as nerfs as per say fixes. I dont see any of the changes as nerfs, i was more curious to a stealth nerf that made to test that I have not read about. The way some of the group members i was with were talking was wow your going to be severly gimped tomorrow. Ok so maybe this is a bad post after all... But I am looking forward to this live update, imho I think the changes are going to make the game more enjoyable.

- Imbued jewelry now applies its effects permanently while it is worn. Imbued effects from these items will stack. For example, wearing two rings with the same strength buff will apply two strength buffs.GET ANOTHER STR RING!!!

Blixx000 wrote:

They are reducing poison damage.

What's your basis for this? I haven't heard anything of the sort. Is there a dev post saying that somewhere? Or news from the test server? Thanks.

Well if they nerf posion damage it is not a nerf to Rangers only. Everything that is going to go live on LU 19 will be a nerf to all scouts. The only thing that directly effects us is if they stop melee weapons from proc'ing of the bow. But, since I don't use my PGT or my SSoY anymore and I am not an uber fabled decked out Ranger this will not affect me.

Elbryan60 RangerEverfrostBlind Guardians

The real nerf today is that melee weapons will not proc on bow anymore. That will put a tiny dent in our DPS, but not enough to write home about, imo.The poison change will most likely not be a nerf. It's just to make them easier to make/understand.
