<div>Hi All!  Im coming back to EQ2 in anticipation of the new PvP servers.  I played only one month of EQ2 back when game went live and jumped ship to WoW pvp servers.   I am a noob and was wondering if I could get some help on a couple of questions?</div><div> </div><div>1.  It seems most rangers focus mainly on str then, int or agi, followed by wisdom for resists.  Albeit the slow rangers out there still are going agility for their main stat.  It seems to me this works well on pve cause you dont need a lot of Stanima for pve (i take it rangers dont tank nor do they like to get hit).  However stanima (hitpoints) on pvp servers i believe is a key stat. </div><div> </div><div>Maybe on pvp servers go something like str for dps, stanima for hitpoints, int for damage for procs and poisons, agi you get this naturally as you level and equipment and your selfbuff, then wisdom.   In that order.  Your thoughts are welcome on this<img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />  If you dont think stanima is needed on  a pvp server please explain.</div><div> </div><div>2.  Also if you were going to make an alt/healer with conc buffs in mind what healer type would work best with a ranger.  What buffs in particular help a ranger out most?   What do these buffs do? This is a Queynos healer, naturaly.</div><div> </div><div>Thanks for the help,  If I think of anymore questions Ill come back later. </div>

<div></div>In regards to stats, I would definitely put strength first.  Int is going to become at least slightly less important in the very near future.  I would guess that the biggest impact int has for us is in poison, but weapon procs are no small part of the reason that int has become a popular stat for rangers.  The reason weapon procs are such a big deal is because we can proc our melee weapons from using our bow.  They are fixing this in the very near future though so int will have a smaller impact on our overall dps.  I've no idea how much of an impact it will have and how important int will remain for us.  I would guess that it will still be at least nominally important.  As for the other stats and how they will impact pvp, I believe that depends on play style as well as a couple of other things.  I personally will be much more concerned with not getting hit than having enough health to take hits.  We aren't a plate class and don't have exceptional avoidance.  You may take this as a supporting argument for having more health, but in my opinion it just means why bother?  If I'm getting beat on, then I'm already off to a bad start.  As a ranger, I will never go out of my way to get more stamina.  That's also the way the ranger class is designed in my opinion.  We have plenty of snares to keep people from getting away or getting too close and we have stealth to add the element of surprise and help us excel at guerilla tactics.  My objective will be to kill someone as fast as possible and minimize their opportunity to do damage to me.  So I guess what I'm saying is that I definitely wouldn't put sta second in my list.  I'm not sure where it will fall, but for me it will definitely be close to the bottom.  Also, I like agility because it affects my power pool and I like having a large power pool.  I'm very curious about how being locked in combat works in pvp and how this affects power and health regen.  Based on my experiences from EQ, in pvp resists are king.  So I'm curious about wisdom.  I'm not really sure how much of an impact it has on resists, but let me tell you that, for us, I'm guessing being able to resist a root will be the difference between life and death.  So, strength will be first in my list, stamina may well be last, and I'm not really sure about agi, int, and wisdom yet.<div></div>

<div></div>I sure wish all on the PvP servers a good luck. Imo, the classes in this game are FAR from balanced for a PvP game. Its a whole different story to fight against other players than fight against mobs. The mobs have HUGE hitpoints compared to us, its pretty easy to oneshot some player in duel, but its pretty impossible to oneshot a +++ mob ~ your lvl.STA will surely be an important stat. But will 200 hps more help you to win a fight? Very rarely i think. It should make a difference, but its like what, not even a full proc from a T6 legendary poison? <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />Imo, they should do something like : all our CA:s / spells do 30% dmg against other players. Or sumthing like that... could maybe make the PvP more interesting.... *shrug*<div></div><font color="#ffcc00">*EDIT*</font><font color="#ffcc00"></font><font color="#ffcc00">and talking our = all classes, not just us rangers</font>++Xan<p>Message Edited by xandez on <span class="date_text">01-30-2006</span><span class="time_text">10:25 AM</span></p>

They have all ready stated that all CAs basically have two effects, one for pve and one for pvp.  It's been a while since I've dueled so maybe this isn't the case anymore, but from what I recall they have already reduced the effectiveness of CAs when used against players.<div></div>
