<div>Hello all,</div><div> </div><div>I think I'm bugged. Here's the situation, I'm a level 21 ranger and I  just purchased a pristine imbued long bow. The base damage  on the weapon  when I viewed it on the broker was 68-339. When I equipped the bow the base damage dropped to 49-243. Now I then noticed that my melee weapons did the same thing. When I viewed them on the broker they had  higher base damage, but when I equipped them the damage dropped.</div><div> </div><div>My ranger has good equipment and my stats are high for that level. I even purchased more strength gear that improved my strength by +20 points to see if that would correct the problem, but it didn't. I wasn't grouped with anyone at the time of purchased, so I would not  benefit from their buffs.</div><div> </div><div>Today, my stats on my bow read 49-243. I checked the broker again and the same bow  read 68-339. I checked my bow again and it read 68-339. I then zoned into Willow Wood and my stats on my bow dropped again.</div><div> </div><div>I noticed that the base damage of my weapons do not change if I change my equipment with various stats or if take off all my armor.</div><div> </div><div>Now I have played a warlock for the past 10 months and haven't played a melee character in awhile. I thought that weapons and armor do not scale anymore as you level.</div><div> </div><div>Thanks</div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div>

<div></div><p>alright then - I'm stumped.  I've got the same bow.  Kicks butt.</p><p>I have heard that there's a UI bug on some things like that though (there are other posts to that effect).  I've never been too concerned about it myself.  As long as I'm getting nice damage off my bow, and occasional procs, then I'm happy. </p><p>If you just scroll over the bow (in the inventory screen - no clicking), it shows the default damage, but if you examine it (right click - examine?), it adjusts to YOUR stats, based on your current buffs and stats, and then, if you scroll over it again (again in inventory window), it reflects those, examined, stats.  Is that what's happening?  It might reset when you zone - I don't know about that.</p>

<div></div><p>Ok, I think it's a UI bug. I did what you suggested. I placed my cursor over the bow and it read the 49-243 damage. I then examined it and the damage change to 68-339. I then closed the bow display window and placed the cursor over the bow in the inventory and it read 68-339. I then went into a different zone and the bow reverted to the lower damage. I just repeated the same steps and it went back to the higher damage stats.</p><p>Thanks for your input. I'm going to report the bug.</p>

<div></div><div>No its from your buffs, namely the ones that increase dps it makes your weapons hit harder then it shows by hitting I. inspect yourself and it will show the damage your bow can do. with those buffs on, then take your buffs off and re-inspect it will be different.</div><p>Message Edited by Spike92 on <span class="date_text">01-28-2006</span><span class="time_text">02:40 AM</span></p>

<font size="2">It is a UI bug.  It's been around for quite a while now.  It doesn't effect everyone but there have been multiple posts about it, including a couple here on the ranger boards some time back if I remember correctly.(And no I'm not telling you to use the search  LOL)</font><div></div>

<div></div>I tested out my previous suggestion the other night (since it was off the cuff and from memory).  Turns out I have the same little bug.
