So, as a Dirge sneaking over here into standing-around-with-a-look-of-negligent-woodcraft-land, I'm actually donning my Jeweler persona.

If you're ust a poor country girl trying to squeak by in the big city, and the existing jewelers have the market for actual jewelry all sewn up, them and their gathering and selling alts and their great big fancy rooms, you have to craft smarter. And since one can't throw a tin arrow in the wildlands without nicking a Ranger's spleen, as opposed to bards, who one sees now and then, or rogues, who seem to be an endangered species, to be locked up in a museum somewhere, the market opening I'm looking at is ranger upgrades.

And since it'd take about forty plat to buy rares to put up ALL the t5-6 ranger Adpet 3s, and I don't have forty plat to spare, I want to know which ones to put up. Up to, say, a dozen.

I already keep the Ancient Teachings stuff up; Thorny Trap, Stream of Arrows, Sniper Shot. And I keep an Ad3 of Honed Reflexes up because where else are you going to get that puppy? But what else, in order to be of service to the never-lost-in-the-woods-crowd, should I keep on the broker?

Best,

Whysprr

Whysprr Wyrdwynd (born during a severe vowel shortage)

Brethren (And what about the sistren, may I just ask?)

Qeynos (but not ridiculous about it)

Dirge ('A group without a dirge is like a day without drizzle') and Jeweler (gotta support my imbued jewelry habit somehow)

Some level or other (who knows when you're reading this)

Neriak server

Gah! If only you were on Permafrost. :smileywink:One spell that I can't live without is Tripple Arrow... and our offensive stance, Archer's Frenzy. Precise shot gets used everytime it refreshes, and Culling the Weak or Stealthy Fire are also up there on the list of the first skills I want to upgrade.Good luck to you!edit: woops, I guess stealth fire is already Master II, but if I had taken one of the other options... well it would be a sure bet as an upgrade. :smileytongue:

Message Edited by Vimy on 01-27-200609:37 AM

Imo, since our dmg comes from procs (well, i think like 50-70% of it anyway, maybe even more) it is NOT that important to upgrade your skills to adept3 (i could be wrong of course, and why not upgrade?)That is if you are poor, etc... Theres no drawback on upgrading thou, only benefits (compared to the situation PRE the CU)
Note, however, that we don't know which skills in T6 will be replaced in T7, and that information would likely impact the demand for Adept III skills in T6.

I think they will not abandon their 14 lvl upgrade pathing thing... so lvl 55 skills will get an upgrade at 69 and 56 at lvl 70. This is not official news, just that i think they wont bother to change the existing system.

Hope this helps
Hope i added something to this..

++Xan
Message Edited by xandez on 01-30-200610:35 AM

To answer your question Xan, I have all of my skills at ad3 or higher. There was a guardian in my guild that swapped over to Ranger because we were tank heavy. He has a few skills at ad3 or M1, but a lot of others at Ad1. Our gear is also drastically different since I've been playing a Ranger all along and he just pl'd one to 60. On raids I'm the high end of DPS for my guild, especially on named mobs. This guy is usually a couple hundred DPS behind me. I've seen multiple parses (Combat Stats) that show me doing from 150-300 dps more than him on any given fight. On all of these fights he's using store bought iron arrows, I'm using makeshift fulginate, or both of us are using iron hunting arrows for slash damage as needed. Both are running Adeste for poison. I use Glox, and I believe he does too. He uses rings and str potions, I don't use potions much and forget about my rings a lot of the time. Upgrades from Ad1 to AD3 make a huge deal. It's going from AD3 to M1 that sometimes doesn't gain you that much, but I'll never pass up a master that I see drop if I don't have it yet.

Well i dont say that upgrading is useless, just that it seems the procs are which make the most of our dmg.Of course comparing 2 players with whatever skill levels is extremely hard. You cant know how he/she plays compared to you etc. But im also upgrading my CA:s, so i definitely dont think its worthless, just wondering how important it really is ++Xan

Well, I made most of these over the last few days and stuck them on the broker -- we'll see if they sell. One thing that I have not been able to find since hitting 60 are the lvl60 skills. I don't know that I'd buy the adepts, but I'd jump on some app IV's even. Might want to check your market because they'd be an easy sell on Perma.

Okay, so I'm reactivating this thread for several reasons:

1. To thank the repliers; the AD3s I've made out of this list sell like lemonade in August. Presumably you've done a service to those Kithicor rangers who bought 'em, you've certainly helped me out.

2. To ask if the list has changed post-LU20.

3. To ask what's on the T7 must-have list; as I work my way up through the sixties and bite my tongue and pay 5p for a moonstone, what should I make it into to pry loose those carefully-hoarded Ranger coins, now even more tightly clutched in nerfed Ranger fists?

Whysprr

Whysprr Wyrdwynd (born during a severe vowel shortage) the Sultana of Splat

Brethren (And what about the sistren, may I just ask?)

Qeynos (but not ridiculous about it)

Dirge & Bespoke Jeweler to the Scouts of Norrath (at least the ones who are willing to put their rares at risk)

Some level or other (who knows when you're reading this)

Kithicor server (when it's up and lag isn't too dreadful)

I'm only 4 levels into T7 so I don't know that I will be much help to you. The upgrade choices you get at 64 are below:SelectionFocus AimDevitalizing ArrowLongbladeSelection replaces Natural SelectionFocus Aim replaces Focus FireLongblade replaces LongshankDevitalizing Arrow replaces Debilitating Arrow.I took Devitalizing Arrow as my M2 because I saw myself get more use out of it than the other selections. I definietly wouldn't make this an A3. I would A3 Reclaimed Arrow at 62 or find a master. It's worth the # of arrows you get. Rain of Arrows at 70 is worthy. Triple volley at 70 is a certainty. Veiled Fire at 68. Cloak of the forest at 69 and any others you can afford.Just my thoughts. I'm sure others may differ.

Personally, I feel all skills should be at adept 3 and than for bonus go for Masters. My Master II selection was stealty fire, not triple fire and considering LU20, I'm loving that choice. Since you can buy adept 3's getting them all to adept 3 is merely a matter of time. Of course, you might want some cooler armor before updating some of your arts, but in the grand scheme of things, I don't think you're gimping yourself ever no matter which path you choose.

Partly because I was completely frustrated after LU20, partly because we need more healers in guild. :smileywink:
