View Full Version : Do you guys ever venture outside of the Ranger forum?

It's horrible out there!  You see levels of anger, ignorance and stupidty that never seems to manifest in here.  I've un-subscribed to all non-Ranger / Tailor threads now.  It's just not worth it.Ranger really does attract the best sort of people I think.  We use exclamation marks and abusive language against SOE and Devs on here, but I don't remember seeing Rangers using them against Rangers.Of course, as soon as we mention DPS a wizzard pops in...........<div></div>

Yep.  I have 9 alts.  The main 4 I am playing right now are a 37 Guardian, 25 Bruiser, 29 Zerker and 28 Pally.  Mainly the Guard and Bruiser.Guard forum is horrible, Guards really need some love, alot of them are very unhappy with the class and want either some action, or to be able to /respec to another Tank class.Bruisers are in high spirits, their class rocks.Zerkers are 50/50 really, some are happy, some are unhappy.  Personally I think they need more DPs love.  I switched from my Zerker (my original character) to my Ranger because the Zerkes DPs was just so "blah" .. i didnt feel like a Zerker. The Pally is fine, as i think pallys are on the whole.  They have an awesome agro ability that makes them my personal choice for parter for a Ranger. The Amends line not just reduces your hate, it transfers it to the Pally so the more damage you do, the more hate he gets.  In my opinion its way over powered, and someting all the tank classes need.  Or more likely, something the Guardians need a group wide version of (reduce the % alot, like down to say 5% per person). All in all though we are very lucky.  Our class is about perfect.  This scares me though, Sony has a habit of nerfing a ballanced class instead of fixing broken ones... so i am worried we will be percieved as too powerful when its in fact the other classes that need fixing, not us.<div></div>

Really the only other place I check, or post in is the NGD forums.  Most of the people in there are great.  And, you don't have all the bickering about what class got nerfed and all that crap.   Other than that, NO...<div></div>

<div></div>Not only are we Uber DPS we're Uber people in general.  You guys all rock and have been very helpful to me since I started playing again.  It seems like other classes compete against each other, whereas rangers try to help each other.

<div></div>I have 7 characters .. my 50 Fury and 50 Warlock however i haven't played since a long time and so also stopped looking into these forums. Monk forum is very nice. Dirges ... not much traffic there. Conjurer is also not bad. Brigands .. i really like the special kind of humor there <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

I check what the Devs are writing and Testing Feedback from time to time.   But for the most part, if I am on the boards I'm here.  Oh, and my server board, but it's pretty quiet.<div></div>

<div></div>This forum and my server board (great peeps and a lot of good friends there) are the only ones I frequent with any regularity. I periodically look in on the guardians (glum and depressing), inquisitors (generally content, learned some good stuff there), and now bruisers (we'll see) b/c of my various alts. I also check NGD and use the Dev Tracker from time to time, if I find myself with some forum time.

<div></div>I have read in about every forrum at one time or another as i sit at work and check them, it is brutal out there some days (p.s. don't go near the test board for a while till LU19 clears test.) these and the Butcherblock are some of the best I know, then the tradeskills ones. I have learned alot here from all the rangers that dont mind helping a newb.

<div></div><p>My main is a Guard and you are absolutely correct the Guardian Forum is a tough audience.  I have given up posting in there, everytime I try to offer advice to a newbie question it turns into something more ugly - I get tired of defending my class.  I come into here throw something into the mix and I get a good job, or if I am off the mark a correction but it is always positive and never a flame.  I go into the Wiz forums but it is 50/50 in there and in all honesty I do not have the class knowledge to answer any questions in there. </p><p>My Ranger Alt is now my go to when I log in but Guild duties keep me from running him as much as I want lately. </p>

<div></div><p>You should see the assassin forum... Most are [Removed for Content] because assassin's dps should be the same as a ranger's but it is not even close due to the million bow procs. Then there is the argument about the high level AoE raids. Assassin 1 says, "Why should rangers out damage us when they are sitting back away from the fight while we have to be in AoE range and get trounced by Sunchild's 5k+ heat AoE?" Assassin 2 says, "And when we joust him so we can have a chance to survive our dps goes way down. <u><b>Guardians</b></u> - have been bigging them up on a descussion about SKs.  As far as I can see they are my and most other people's first choice MT.  That thread started out as an intelligent conversation that got ruined too - was actually the one that inspired me to start this topic.<u><b>Assassins</b></u> - I thought you guys were about level with us.  News to me.  How far behind us are you?  Are you T1?<div></div>

<div>I cruise a lot of the boards but some of my favorite areas beyond Rangerdom include the History and Lore boards (i love that lore man), SK boards are enjoyable nother class there with a lot of peeps in it for the class not the advantages, and I get a hoot out of the KoS forums hehe though they are rampant and really should be avoided lol.  I dev track and skim just about anything I think I would have an interest in.  About once a month I buckle down and read about the first page of everything on all the forums and then I mark all as read to clear up whats new in vain hopes of trying to keep on top of everything.  I really love the Butcherblock forums too hehe I mean where else do you find wolverine vs. spiderman debates lol.</div>

Spider-senses and wall crawling keep him out of ranger of the claws.  He can just throw rocks at him then if he wants.  No contest.  <span>:smileywink:Now the Hulk on the other hand......</span><div></div>

No way, Wolverine would destroy Spiderman.  All he would have to do is get one claw on him and spidey is done.  Plus, spiderman cant really do anything that would hurt Wolverine enough so that the regen wouldnt be able to come into play.  Wolverine = best super hero ever.<div></div>

Please, he's just a glorified brawler.  Spider sense ftw mate.  Web his hands together, then see him use the claws.  The runt doesn't even have super strength (or he shouldn't, depends how bad the hack is writing that week) so he can't break the webbing.  Could pick him up and drown him if he wanted.<div></div>
