<div></div><div></div><p>Any guides even more basic than that?  I'm also new to scout/ranger (and to the game as well).  Can decent versions of these be bought from NPCs without crafting (I can't stands the crafting)? Can arrows (e.g., a stack at a time) be poisoned as well as melee weapons?</p><p>Edit: Ignore this post, finally found some good info in other posts.</p><p>Message Edited by dagoo7 on <span class="date_text">01-16-2006</span><span class="time_text">11:04 AM</span></p>

Here are the basics:You can purchase poisons either from NPCs or other players (directly, through mail, or from the broker).  The NPCs poisons for lower level characters are usually available from merchants in the city suburbs.  Most outdoor adventure zones have merchants that sell things like poisons, food, and arrows that are appropriate to the level of the zone.To use a poison, right-click on it and select "Use".  Only Predators, Rogues, Assassins, Rangers, Swashbucklers, and Briggands can use poison.  Once you've used a poison, it will show up in your "maintained spells" window.  It will say that the duration is 12 hours, but really it's 12 hours or some number of activations (generally 200 for player-made damage poisons, and 100 for NPC poisons).  So if you're fighting a lot, it will wear off much sooner than 12 hours.  You don't specificly apply poison to any particular weapon; the game treats it as a buff that has a chance to activate whenever you attack.Poisons can proc (activate) whenever you strike with:+ any autoattack swing with a one-handed weapon+ any autoattack from your *main* hand when using two dual-wield weapons+ any combat art+ any ranged autoattackRangers should always use poison.  The NPC stuff is okay, but player-made is much better.  Be careful not to go broke buying it though.<div></div>

<div>I noticed yesterday when I activted my damage poison from my inventory the other damage poisons also dimmed as though they were on the same timer.   This may assist is seeing which poisons/potions will stack</div><div> </div><div> </div>

<div></div><div>I always read about using stun-potions .. however the only i see in the lists below level 50 are a level 10 and level 20 potion ... do you really use one of these potions until level 50 ?</div>

<div></div><div>I ALWAYS use stun poisons. They use a seperate timer than damage and debuff poisons. Poisons are fairly easy for me to come by though because I have a lvl 60 alchemist. You can start using Touch of the Beholder at 20 I believe. It is a lvl 29 recipe and requires the Tier 3 rare loam to make. It works great up until lvl 50.</div><div> </div><div>Hope this helps!</div><div> </div><div>Aghubo</div><p>Message Edited by FunkBuddha on <span class="date_text">01-17-2006</span><span class="time_text">06:08 AM</span></p>

Yup.  Touch of the Beholder works just fine in the 20's, 30's, and 40's.  Personally I only use it for really tough solo fights though.<div></div>

<div></div>Hm .. ok .. however since i never saw that on the broker, and our guild alchie is on holiday and wasn't ingame for the last 3-4 weeks, i think i will also get to 50 without having ever used a stun potion <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

I made it all the way up to lvl 54 without ever using a stun poison.  Now the only time I use them is when I solo, which is never, or am in a small group.  Usually I rely more on my thorny trap than anything though...<div></div>

<div></div>I solo a lot .. or play just with 1 or 2 friends .. however i never was a friend of soloing heroics .. if i need to kill nameds for quests then normally i ask for help .. or wait until they are green/grey so that i can finish them solo. The only problems i now see is, since is startet now tears grifters tasks in Maj Dul, is sometime to fight against mobs with an upgrade there in the small rooms where you hardly can hit them with more then one ranged shot :smileyindifferent:
