<div>Well I am sorta of new to EQ II. I have been playing SWG for over 2 years and have done just about everything in that game as I can. I am second in command of a guild with over 100 people, so starting a new game without my friends has been kinda hard. In the past several months I have tried out games like WoW and GW and SoG (Dark and Light). Then a friend of mine knowing that I am big into MMOs bought this for me for x-mas (and no he doesn't even play). I decided to give it a try and I love it. This game completely blows away the others I tried out. So I first created a toon on the Lucan server. I made a human Shadow Knight and got him up to lvl 21. But the problem is I have never played a bad guy before, and kind why I chose the SK was the lure of doing something different. However in my heart I am good and I always want to help out the npc and not threaten and kill them. So I then created a high elf priest on the AB server. Good people there but lag was insane and made it not fun to play during peak hours. So I then created a wood elf scout (going ranger currently a pred.) on Grobb (I think that was the name) server. I am absolutly loving it. However I am not a huge fan of the server. There are to many people running around with names like 'helokitty' and stuff. That just really ruins immersion for me as I am a roleplayer. So I guess what I am wanting to know is what is a good server to play a Wood Elf Ranger on. I really really like ranger and I love my wood elf, I am just looking for a home now. Oh and I am really looking to find a good 20+ age crowd that is into RP.</div>

<font size="2">From personal experience, I can tell you that Highkeep has a pretty mature player base. There are some players with very not roleplay type names, but I think you'll find that on any server. I think Butcherblock is a good one as well...and although I have no experience at all with Najena, I have heard that it's player base is pretty good. Take that for what it's worth, because everyone has their own tastes.</font><div></div>

I am from Najena myself, and all in all I like it, though it is kinda crowded. I would not say that is is big on RP though, but I guess it could be worse as far as names/actions go. Though, I am still not sure how RP is supposed to work in an ARAC world...Merkades, 60th Ranger.Tradeskills suck, 34th Jeweler.Siege, Najena.

Anyone who played SWG for 2 years has my respect. I only lasted 3 months, and that was out of shear desire to enjoy the game...You can try Butcherblock as well... There is rarely lag (except in Qeynos Harbor) and we have a pretty friendly crowd (for the most part)No matter where you go don't forget to join the world Ranger server, There are lots of friendly people willing to answer all you Ranger needs<div></div>
<div>If you're a roleplayer, you'll probably be happiest on Lucan or Antonia - they're the only RP-encouraged servers. But they'll also have the highest populations, and thus the most griefing and general idiocy. The Block is good (to me), but I have no real way to assess the cultures on other servers other than by talking to ppl who play them. Our community has a significant presence on Highkeep, Najena, Grobb, Butcherblock, and a few others, though.</div>

I have to agree with Zho, I am on Highkeep and while I dont flag RP I do see a lot of ppl do. I havent had any prob with maturity yet (2 1/2 months) and havent seen a hellokitty either. I'd love to see another ranger running around but it's your choice, "choose wisely young padowan" (sorry couldn't help myself).<span>Highkeep/Ranger/WoodfireTrader of collectables pst me anytime</span>

<div></div>Well I stuck around Grobb. Still trying to decide if I wanna try another server. Seems on this board there is a lot going on over on Highkeep. I was invited to a guild and they seem like pretty good people but again (maybe I am just crazy or something) people using stupid names as last names. I don't know why this gets to me but it does for some reason. Ultimately I might end up back on Lucan but there doesn't seem to be a very big ranger population there. Maybe that can work out better for me. However from with my experince with my SK on Lucan getting into a guild is not quite as easy as people don't just run around inviting people that are unguilded. Again this is actually a good thing.

If you do decide to stick around Grobb, feel free to send me a tell if you ever need anything. And, don't let the idiots on any server discourage you, they are on all servers, RP and non.... As for guilds, there is nothing I hate worse than people spamming thier guilds all over Ant, Commonlands, TS and Nek... Just make sure you end up guilded with people you like. I have been through 4 guilds getting to (and beyond) lvl 60. I have met great people along the way, and don't belive that a tag under a name changes friendships.<div></div>

<div></div><div>Granted, I'm just a tad biased, but I've found Lucan is a great server for rangers. I had some trouble with lag in Qeynos Harbor and occasionally in Willow Wood when there were lots of people around, and sometimes in larger groups, but that's been fixed with the addition of a gig of ram ($80, newegg.com)</div><div> </div><div>However, I don't think you'll find any server without SOME people that have goofy names. Even Lucan and AB are only roleplay PREFERRED. A point of contention on the Lucan Forum, by the way.</div><div> </div><div>There are a number of roleplay opportunities though, for any class.</div><div> </div><div>Good luck with your hunt.</div>
