<div>Ok, hopefully i can explain what I am wanting to know....</div><div> </div><div>Lets say I am 3-boxing a group in their 40's. I have a Zerker, Fury and a DPS. I want a DPS where I basically just have to hit buttons as opposed to constantly moving around and positioning for max DPS.</div><div> </div><div>Can a Ranger be in that DPS position (assuming I have the zerker always keeping the MOB's back to the Ranger)? Can a Ranger just sit back at a distance, not move the entire fight and shoot arrows and use the bow skills only and do the same or more DPS than a wizard just sitting back and nuking?</div><div> </div><div>Thanks in advance.</div>

Depends on the length of the fight. We've got quite a few ranged shots that we could rattle off. Against a single mob it would be doable. Against many mobs at once it may stink though. And once we've blown through those abilities we have to move up and melee a bit to maximize DPS, then back out to range as combat arts become available. I'm not the wisest on what other classes have to do to keep their DPS up, I know I'm moving around all the time while I fight. I have no idea how much micromanagement other classes take, so it's hard to make a comparison.<div></div>

Heres the trick. Keep the mobs back to the ranger, and between 5 to 10 meters. That allows for both the ranged AND a couple melee CA's to work. Effectively, if you can keep the mobs back to the ranger, then the ranger will have an easier time to lob off shots, and of course there are those shots that require the ranger to be behind the mob. There are not any skills in the rangers aresenal which require the ranger to be in front fo the mob. So yes, effectively, you can sit behind the mob and punch buttons without ever moving, and as long as the tank keeps aggro, the ranger will be able to keep shooting.<div></div>

Good point, I did forget about that range. That would make things much easier. I personally think that it'd still be easier to use a class that didn't require positioning, but if you're willing to set it up, it'd be some good damage.<div></div>

<div></div>not in any way are they better than rangers dps wise, but for 2 or 3 boxing a caster dps might be a better choice. Maybe a wizard would work out best. simple, no positional requirements and mindless button pushing.

<div></div><p>yeah wizard for the win if you are two or three boxing. The ranger requires too much movign around and positioning to get max dps.</p><p> </p><p>Elbryan</p><p>58 Ranger</p><p>Blind Guardians</p><p> </p>
