View Full Version : Procs?
Okay, this may be common knowledge but I just started playing and I keep reading different things when I search. What is the current situation with procs? Do dual wield effects proc off bows? I have a whip with a bleed proc that doesn't seem to be going off on my bow. I wish there was a better faq about this kind of stuff stickied.<div></div>
<div></div>As an aside, I just had the following happen:hidden shot -> poison -> quick strike proc (extra stance attack) -> THAT got a poison procfirst regular hit - > gleaming strike -> poisonThis all happened instantly on the opening for over 1500 damage at level 37. It was followed by another arrow attack with gleaming, poison, another quick strike, poison before the mob got to me. Crazy the way this stuff chains itself out, and how your procs can trigger more procs <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div><p>Message Edited by Grydel on <span class="date_text">01-07-2006</span><span class="time_text">04:20 AM</span></p>

<div>only the weapon in the primary slot should proc and it will proc when you use your bow as well</div>

When using your bow any shot will have a chance to proc the poisons you have applied, any procs your chest or other armor has, the proc on your bow, as well as any effects on your dual wield weapons as long as they're not the same effect as on your bow. Gleaming strike for example won't proc off both your bow and your duel wielders at the same time. Fabled procs however supposedly stack and Ancient Glyph of Flame could go off all 3 of your weapons at once if they all had it. So if you have a fabled bow like the Valian Bow, a prismatic, another fabled duel wielder like the Lunar Ornate Spear, and a Crypic BP with a proc on it, theres 4 different procs plus poison that all have a chance to go off on any bow shot you make including an offensive stance shot. So technically with an auto attack shot you could have all 4 equipment procs go off plus poison, and then also proc an offensive stance shot which could then also have the 4 procs from equipment and poison go off. Fun stuff huh? When using melee only your primary weapon has a chance to proc the poisons you have applied, and the other procs will work as mentioned before. Procs on the bow will go off during melee as long as they're again not the same effect as one on your duel wielders.Hopefully thats not too confusing...<div></div>

<div>Ssindain pretty much covered it for ya there. In other words.... procs = best friend ever. Just as a good example for what they can do... I used triple arrow and parsed the shot, the arrows themselves did almost 1500 DMG but the actual shot it's self did 7500 dmg. Meaning that 6 k of my dmg on that shot came from procs, from poisons, stance, bow proc, sword proc and shield proc. :0) So if you have a wep that isn't proccing on your bow somethings wrong and it needs to get fixed. Unless when you examon the proc it says "on a successful MELEE attack this has whatever % chance to proc) than that will proc only when meleeing.</div><div> </div><div>LeoricLevel 60 ranger</div>
<div></div><div></div>Thanks for the help, but I guess I am still confused. I am using a Runnyeye Mines Motivator in my mainhand (Legendary) with the proc "bleed" and it doesn't proc off of my bow. Is it just fabled weapons that will work? Is there some list of what works and what doesn't, or some kind of way to tell? The whole reason I bought it was for the proc, so I guess I just want to know how you can tell which work.-Applies Bleed when equipped: -On a successful attack this spell has a 5% chance to cast Bleed on the target of attack. Lasts for 24 seconds. -Inflicts 40-48 slashing damage on target every 4 seconds.<div></div><p>Message Edited by Grydel on <span class="date_text">01-07-2006</span><span class="time_text">10:09 AM</span></p>

<div>Yes, a list would be nice. I've looked around but can't find one. You are right, not all melee weapon procs transfer to the bow. Some legendary ones do though. I think all heritage weapon procs transfer but not 100% sure. Imbued melee weapons don't proc off the bow. Some say theirs does, but mine doesn't and it doesn't make sense that it would, otherwise, what's the point of imbuing the bow.</div><div> </div><div>I'm sure someone will say I'm wrong about the imbued weapons, so just FYI, I swapped my imbued cedar with my old bloodlet and kept the imbued weapon in my primary and... Nada. Killed 20 or more mobs and not once did my bow proc gleaming strike.</div>

Polished Granite Tomahawk, for example, is an obvious and important weapon that will proc from your secondary weapon slot.<div></div>
