Ok I'm new to EQ2, my main toon is a 24 ranger and my questions are: What weapon should I be using? buy vs. drop duel vs. single What type of armor should I use? buy vs. drop What is a reasonable price for a adept at my level? Does Mitigation help me at all, I heard it had to do with my agi?Ty for your time.Highkeep/Ranger/WoodfireTrader of collectables pst me anytime

1: I belive you can start your PGT quest now, not 100% its been a long time since i've done mine. Other than that you should have 1 pierce/1slash, and of course your best with an imbued long bow. 2: As far as armor goes you should get your AQ's out of the way, they'll be good for you until you can get down into Ruins of Varsoon and nab you some of the new stuff coming from there, or until you hit 30 and get the feyiron/feysteel stuff.3: 2-4g usually for an ad1 for your level, but ad3's, being that they require a rare, are somewhat more expensive. 4: Mitigation comes from the armor. Armor has a mitigation amount. Agility determines your powerpool, and avoidance. Mitigation is good depending on how you play. But for the most part, if you don't get it, theres no reason to have it, no?

PGT is the Polished Granite Tomahawk (see pic below) and AQ is Armor Quest. The armor quest is started by a guy in Qeynos Harbor near the bank. And MIT is part of your defense, it is how much damage is absorbed by your armor :smileywink:

I think 24 is way too soon to start the PGT quest solo. I recommend the learning giantish quest off of cheif derrog. Then kill giants in a group. You're gonna have a lot of trouble with the pre-quests to the PGT at lvl 24. You can't even use till 32 I think. I'd say at 24 SH groups would be good for you. You should get some decent chain drops there, and you can work on the ranger bow quest there. As far as weapons go until you hit 30 just buy the highest DPS you can find for your regular weaps. If you're grouping you're just gonna sit back and pump arrows anyway so don't waste too much on weapons or armor until you hit 30, unless you plan on soloing a lot. Unfortunately ranger adepts are incredibly overpriced, but at your lvl get a higher lvl tank and camp lord andros in SH for a little while. He'll drop some masters that you should be able to trade for ranger masters. If you're gonna buy adept's don't spend more thant 1 gp on adept 1 spells. I think the general consensus has been to go with +STR so you hit harder. This will help maximize your DPS. I'll pretty much go with lower mitigation if it means better + stats. Hope this helps.
