<DIV>I feel that I've been crippling myself by not getting my hands on enough T4 poisons. I usually buy poisons from the broker, as I was informed from reading these threads that buying poisons from merchants really isn't worth it. My question is where do you guys generally buy poisons? Brokers? Do you have an Alchemist on call? Maybe its my server(neriak) but there doesn't seem to be a lot poison available to buy on the broker. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.</DIV>

Up until a lvl 60 Alchy joined my guild, I bought all my poisons on broker. When something I like hit the broker, I bought it all up as there never seemed to be a good steady supply. One suggestion I have is do a /who all alchemist. It will show all the alchy's online at the time. Once you find one you like, I suggest sticking with them. Once you become a good customer, they will likely give you a break on the price. And, as an absolute last resort, if you cannot find any poisons on broker, or any alchy's lfw, you can buy from an NPC. Even the stuff you get from them is better than nothing. One other thing you can try is posting on your servers forums that you are looking for an alchy. It sometimes helps.Just my 2 cp<div></div>

It's tricky, as an alchemist, to decide what to stock. We have limited shelf-space, and low profit on a per-slot basis. It's risky to put too much effort into a large stock, because it might not sell, or someone might come along and undercut you. But just because we don't have an item in stock at the moment doesn't mean we're unwilling to make it though. Most alchemists complain that they don't know what the consumers want. Placing an order with a LFW alchemist is an option that might work, but you'll probably only get good results if it's a large order. Dropping everything to whip up two T3 common poisons for 1gp just isn't worth it most of the time. But 20 T3 common poisons might be. (Of course, how many will you actually need before you outlevel them, and how much free bank space do you have?) Personally, I'd recommend mail. Look for an alchemist who sells poisons of your tier on the market, and send a letter saying what you're looking for and ask if he'll stock a few, or if you can buy by mail. (You might also want to indicate how much you want, and how much you'll pay. Use his current stock prices as a guideline.) He might say no, or blow you off. But he might be perfectly willing to try keeping some of what you're looking for on hand. If someone buys it before you, then he'll know there's a market for it. If not, at least he can be reasonably confident that you'll buy it from him. <div></div>
<DIV>/who all alchemist X Y (where X is equal to the minimum level and Y is equal to the maximum level you wish to search)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>For instance "/Who all alchemist 50 60" will give you all the alchemists online on your server b/w levels 50 and 60.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This is a good starting point. Peruse your list for people in TS instances or with LFG tags. Start conversations and ask if they make poisons or are interested in an order for them. If you really want to get in good, or if you start a relationship with one, offer to harvest for them - they need roots and certain fungus for poisons. If you do arrange a transaction and they ask a reasonable price, tip them according to the quality of service - if they make your poisons right away or are particularly obliging about your order, show your appreciation accordingly. Try to locate chemists who are 'professionals' or at least dedicated crafters, and give them repeat business.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Alchemists are our best friends. Sure, jewelers make our upgrades, but I only go to a jeweler when I need an Adept III. I don't order App4s. Alchemists refine rares into the ink for the upgrades, they make our poisons, and they refine imbue items into extracts for weapon and armorsmiths. I make it a point to have several good alchemist friends on my server - off the top of my head I can think of five that I do business with regularly. Generally, when I need a lil chemistry, there's at least one of them online who can help me. I make a point to be courteous and polite and unless they're crafting at that moment, I don't ask for rush orders or immediate service. Using mail often helps, b/c it's something they can refer to if you have a large list. Tells can evaporate pretty quickly, depending on the player's chat setup.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hope this helps. I would avoid the broker unless you need something immediately - you will find much better prices by working directly with a crafter. (That goes for all player-crafted items, in my experience.)</DIV>

<DIV>Thanks a ton guys...this is a big help. When I get home from work today I'll see who I can look up, and I'll try to avoid the broker from now on unless i'm completely out of poison.</DIV>
