I've only played a Swashy and a Ranger out of the scout classes. I personally didn't like the Swashy (group invis was nice though) Ranger on the other hand is a blast.

the brother of a guildy played a swashbuckler. then he made a ranger. now he plays the ranger more then the swashy :smileyvery-happy:

--------------------------
Ryilan Nightbreeze
--------------------------

You should pick the class that suits the role you want to play. As a scout, you are not the forefront of the group as the tank, nor are you the anchor or lifeline like the healer. You help your group but you essentially work alone and no class depends on you as they do a healer or tank. All scouts are classified as DPS, but think of scouts along a spectrum with DPS at one end and Utility at the other. Predators get the most DPS, Rogues sit in the middle with a nice balance of each, and Bards get the most Utility.

Bard: Group support, utility, and DPS. They have extremely helpful group buffs and other spells that they make them the Swiss Army knives of a great group. They can't have everything running all the time, so they pick and choose the best spells / buffs for the situation.

Rogue: Balanced utility and DPS. The jack-of-all-trades classes; they get some interesting skills (limited taunts and mezzes among others) and great utility (like group invis), but they also bring respectable DPS to the table. They're more suited to frontal melee combat than other scouts and use self-buffs to increase their DPS for short periods.

Predator: Extreme DPS, very little utility, no group support. These are very focused classes designed to deal the most physical damage in the game. The subclass brings no utility or group support that isn't available to all scouts (Pathfinding, Tracking, Evac) but their damage output is among the highest of all classes.

This is an admittedly brief and crude summary of the scout subtypes, but hopefully it will help guide you toward the role that suits you the best. Good luck!

Jay42 is right. Pick what fits you. If you want more grouping out of your experience pick bard. More dps pick Pred. If your still undecided you might be a rogue. You just gotta find your place.:smileyhappy:

Kaeros, we have spent THOUSANDS <strike>killing</strike> re-educatng those that proved you were ONCE mistaken (NOT WRONG - MISTAKEN) and you go and blab it to the community. How are we going to make a profit if you keep DOING that...
