OMG I'm sorry I have to get this out, I got in a pick up raid tonight (first bad sign, them never go well) as we are halfway up to Lockjaw the MT says, sorry guys, I have to go (second bad sign).  No biggie, we have others that can tank.  We time the kills just right so he will spawn (only thing that went right), and go for him.  Our new MT dies and jet's just out of the blue (third bad sign) and someone actually looks at me and says (being completely sincere) would you mind tanking him?  (/rant_on) Rangers are NEVER tanks (/rant_off).When are people going to learn?  I mean really....  I couldn't tank my way out of an extremely wet paper bag with a ^^^ epic x4....  And, the sad part was, we had 4 more tanks in the raid...  None of them wanted to tank because they were afraid of dying...  Needless to say, I left the raid very quickly after mumbling something about work calling....<div></div>

<P>I agree completely with GrayStorm since I also am MT more often than not.  In fact the only times I haven't been I still end up with agro either to save the MT or one of the casters.</P> <P> </P> <P>It's no big deal.  You just switch to defensive stance and drop a good shield into your secondary.</P>

Ok, maybe I should be more specificI was in a pick up raid, not a guild raid.  I have tanked for my guild, I dont' like doing it, but, I have done it.  There is a big difference between knowing that my healers in my guild can heal me and a pick up raid where I don't know the poeple.<div></div>
