Something really crappy happened today! Was doign cazel with an SK / wizzy / conj / Templar and me ranger so what happened! The SK pulled way to freaking slow to have mobs clear for cazel so i started pulling and kill asap! Then when all was clear the SK messed up the pull to cazel a few times so we had to clear it all again and he messed up again....sigh!

So at this point i got really [Removed for Content] kicked the SK and started clearing again! once we were at Cazel we moved to the backside i dropped my trap to the rigth side to grab one add and do some extra damage! Now activated phantasmal poisons (spelling) stun poison that procs like a mofo activated adeste (ussually only use during raids or solo) and started on Cazel!

I started with sniper shot (M1) which stuns cazel so he cant stun us then i did triple shot and all the other ranged stuff and the mob kept getting stunned while one add was kicking my butt! the wizzy and conj were also focused on the named mob! So eventually Cazel dropped in what 15 seconds wihtout even casting one stun? Then the adds killed me and the rest of my group killed the adds!

So basicly what i am saying is I tanked Cazel! Cause the [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn] SK was a [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]!

Styxxey 60 ranger of splitpaw!

Well done. :smileyhappy:

Phantasmic Visions is a great stunner. If my group is taking on something very tough my swashie feller and I load up on the schtuff. It's powerful and effective. (/pray to SOE .. don't take the stunner! lol)

Hmm. I group with a SK occasionally. He does a great job tanking and I don't really have to watch my aggro too closely because he maintains control very well. He is a bit on the slow side pulling, but he's cautious by nature (very in to planning and having back up plans, etc. hehe).

Could be that whoever you were playing with just doesn't know his roll well enough? (just a guess, there) /shrug

Cazul's does give that edgy/hectic feel of rush rush rush to clear the zone and Cazul before the zone repopulates. =/ I can imagine that is was a very frustrating experience...but still, you guys did awesome, so it must have been a rush, too. :smileyhappy:

Classes whom i havent found a great player of yet are SK / Bruiser / guardian (Zerker) so looking pretty good.

Tha Cwazy Styxxey

I have no problem with dying when tanking. So long as I last long enough for the group to get the job done. Although I must say, sounds like you got heller lucky with the old stun proccing there. Money well spent

My experience has been that aggro has more to do with what I am doing rather than what the tank is. True, if the tank isn't taunting or doesn't know how to play his class, you suffer the consequences of it. I regularly group with a couple different SKs and have no problem keeping aggro off me. But, these are guys I have been playing with for a while and I know what I can and can't do with them. On the flip side, if I really wanted to, I could pull aggro from a pally even with amends on me. I have done it with some of the pallys I have played with as well. My experience is the only person I might have problems pulling aggro from if I wanted to is another 60 ranger who is going all out as well. We have to help the tank out by using our detaunts or we will yank aggro from them more often than not. We can't necessarily just blame the tank because he can't hold aggro. He SHOULD be having a hard time keeping the aggro if we are maximizing our dps for that encounter.

Thats why i took over tnaking if I am peeling of agroe anyways might aswel make it easy for the healer!

And yeah it was bloody lucky stun proccing i doubt i can do it again!

As I understand it, SK's only have one real good line of taunts and a spell line that let's them build hate when they are hit. I have had HUGE problems with SK's not being able to keep agro even when I use only one or two arrow shots and not shooting as soon as they pull. However, I've worked with two different SK's and they both went out and got Adept III's of all their taunts and that hate-builder. Now I have to actively work to pull agro from them. Several times I had to drop my 48% hate debuff to actually pull from them. Work with your tanks and get to know them. Help to be the solution to the problem and not dismiss them as being unworkable. It takes teamwork to build a good team. You may have been the first ranger he's ever grouped with and he might have been lazy taunting because he's not seen really good DPS.
