Pets...do they do anything?

I was under the impression that our pets were just for looks or to help you mark a place on the map,but I read the update#18 notes and it says our pets will now use their combat arts more frequently. Have they been using them all along and I didnt notice? Where can I find any info on what combat arts they have? Anyone with info on this? Buaf 36 Ranger Faydark <div></div>

<P>If your pet takes damage it will start attacking back.</P> <P>I usually use mine to shake aggro when I am harvesting or want to avoid combat. I make the pet 'stay' at the entrance to the zone and when I draw aggro I hit Evade and the mob goes running off to attack my pet. :smileyhappy: It works out quite nicely.</P>

I've seen you post this tip before, and it's pure genius. But what do you do once the angry MoB has killed your pet and comes back looking for you? <div></div>

Is there any info on what kind of attacks our pets use or waht kind of spells they cast. I may have to parse my fights to see if the pet adds any damage, as the update suggests. <div></div>
