<DIV>I'm having no trouble dealing with solo encounters several levels above my own. I figure I can solo as well as the next Ranger. But when it comes to multiple mob encounters (even solo)...that's another story. In fact, that's what makes me miss the wizzie I used to play. Are there ways for a Ranger to deal with multiple mob encounters effectively? I'm hoping you expert Rangers out there can help me a bit.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Any assistance appreciated</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Griz</DIV> <DIV>42 Ranger</DIV> <DIV>Najena</DIV>

Only advice I can give you is... just 10 more levels for <STRONG><EM>Thorny Trap</EM></STRONG>. <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

Storm is my way of dealing with multi-mob encounters. Trap would be very useful to but as I only solo for quest updates and so far they've always been low blue or high green mobs I've never needed it.

<div></div>Well, multiple level encounters are the best exp there are imo. And i have always liked to engage especially multiple mob (solo) encounters. Of course thorny trap is especially good with those after lvl 52, but even before.... i loved em! <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> Try this: - Pick the caster/healer of the group... if you dont know which is which, learn to know em. That will help a LOT. - Open with the most dmg dealing or a snaring attack (eg. culling the herd or hidden fire or sumthing or triple fire behind the mob = ~100% chance to hit all arrows) - If the mob doesnt die instantly, follow up with leg shot (you'll get it at lvl 44) or if you dont have it, shoot with eg. flaming shot, if the mob dies, switch target run back and shoot crippling arrow if mob still not dead shoot the same mob with crippling arrow. - Usually you should get atleast 1 mob dead and 1 mob to halfway before they engage to melee. Many times (eg. encounter of 4 mobs) i get 2 dead and 1 scrathed before the come to melee. - if you are having troubles in melee battles, SWITHC TO DEFENSIVE STANCE (and if your def stance is app1, have atleast app4 made or buy for adept1, if you have cash or the rares, consider even having adept3 made [lvl 46 you'll get a replacement for the def stance, so thats not highly recommended] Oh, and use CHEAPSHOT as much as possible during melee fights, also 1 viable option against groups is to go stealth and open with Spring (yes it does ok dmg, and dunno about spring but atleast natural selection is considered a ranged attack = can be used in distance AND it procs our off. stance.) Then just pick 1 mob, cheapshot, backpedal shoot tripleshot or some other nice dmg bow CA, if not dead, backup and crippling arrow etc... Jut try out different tactics, if the mobs youre fighting are not orange or heroics, you shouldnt have any problems against multible mobs when you learn to take em out! <span>:smileyvery-happy:</span> ++Xan <div></div><p>Message Edited by xandez on <span class=date_text>12-13-2005</span> <span class=time_text>11:34 AM</span>
