<DIV> <DIV>Ok so I am a lvl 45 ranger and I jsut got an Arrow Frenzy (Master I) and I was really excited becasue I know an asasin who has a his master one offensive stnace and his max damage with a cedar bow goes up to over 600 (we are around same lvl)   Anyway so I first activate it and I look to see the change in damage and I see absolutely no change in the min-max damage of both the weapons and all my combat arts.  I was incredibly annoyed to see this because the spell cost alot of money and I was really excited, only to learn that there was no change in damage.  I can see a visable difference in my avoidence when I switch into Defensive stance, but I see no change in damage when I switch into offensive stance, but a decrease in avoidence.  I talked to a few other rangers and all of them said that there is suposed to be a change in damage between the master1 and app 1 versions.  I then tried as an experiemtn using Blade Furry (Adept I) and saw that there was no change in damage for that either, but still a decrease in avoidence, and the same thing was true for Arrow Flurry (App IV)  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So basicly it seems that ranger offensive stances are not working, and could you please fix this. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Thank you,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>-Yonar Swiftarrow (45 Ranger on Faydark)</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>ok sorry I geuss I got it wrong then.  my bad.</DIV></DIV><p>Message Edited by Yonar on <span class=date_text>12-11-2005</span> <span class=time_text>05:13 AM</span>

<DIV>Offensive stance improves your Attack rating, not your STR.  Attack governs your chances to hit (IIRC), not your damage.</DIV> <DIV>However, in addition to that, Arrow Frenzy applies a damage proc to your ranged attacks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It's <EM>well</EM> worth using, believe me.  Just for example, using Storm of Arrows on a group of Sul'Dal mummies in Sinking Sands.  When I'm in defensive stance, the Storm usually knocks all of the mobs down to about half health, perhaps a bit more depending upon poison procs.  If I'm in offensive stance, I can often kill the entire group outright with that one Storm.  It makes that much difference.</DIV>

<P>The visible values for combat art damage, and weapon damage <U>Does not</U> change when offensive stances are applied. Weapon damage is a constant, that never changes unless under certain circumstances when the numbers will suddenly boost, such as when you either level up, or newly recieve the weapon. </P> <P>Combat art damage as far as i know, is completely unrelated to weapon skill, which is what offensive stances give. I know on my 42 assassin between Swindler's luck, Blade frenzy, and Murderous focus, i can get up to about +52 slash/pierce, which is, probably equal or greater to the amount of ranged skill that Archer frenzy does. While it gives a hefty boost to "Attack" underneath the character screen, it shows no direct impact on what the item/CA information boxes say. The only thing attack does as far as i know, is have a marginal effect on accuracy and damage for <U>auto attack</U>.</P> <P>The reason the defensive stance shows a visible value increase is because avoidance is directly affected by defense and parry. So, by recieving 29.7 defense and 30.3 parry from a stance (Just using example values), you might see an increase of 18-23% avoidance on your character panel. The ironic thing is that the increase is actually much smaller than listed, whereas the offensive stances have no visible listing except attack, but add a significant amount of damage. The main perk of the ranger offensive proc line is that it not only does an obscenely high damage, but with the calculations set in, the proc rate for it sits around (7spd/3spd) x 30% = 70% chance to proc on attack, whereas the assassin's offensive proc sits around a 4-6% chance of going off on each attack. </P> <P><FONT size=1>(These are purely theory calculations, and I'm not implying any nerf this or flame that, so please refrain from accusing me of so)</FONT></P>
