<DIV>So I stopped playing the game for a while and I am thinking about coming back.... So as the title asks, "Is is worth is?". How is EQ2 these days I bought it the day of release (actually pre-ordered) so I am assuming the game has changed immensly. What is the leveling like, combat style, and end game? I know that this is general but any help will be greatly appreciated.. I am looking at being a ranger again.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Lindayen</DIV>

<P>It's practically a new game.  Combat has become faster, and tactics have changed since the beginning.  Levelling is faster, thanks to greatly increased quest xp.  Rangers are one of the most powerful classes in the game at this point, both solo and grouped.  Soloing usually consists of leading off with ranged attacks until mobs get into melee range.  Kiting is still somewhat possible, but most ranged CAs interrupt when you move, so it's not the kitefest it was before--but you don't need it anyway.  Once the mob closes with you, you can Cheap Shot--which now actually works--stunning the mob long enough to jump behind it and get in some good back attacks.  Alternatively, you can Cheap Shot and back off and cut loose with the ranged CAs.</P> <P>Of course, in a group or raid, rangers really shine, cranking out some of the highest dps in the game with ranged attacks.  Just mind your aggro.  <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P> <P>In my opinion, it's well worth another try.  If nothing else, the novelty will be back for you for a good while.  <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></P>

<DIV>If you prefer having a nice challenge and not getting nearly everything handed to you, then no. If you REALLY liked the game when it was launched (was like 5x more challenging, yes it also required to play in GROUPS a lot, which it kinda now doesnt anymore...) then i think definitely NO.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you wanna have fun, definitely yes.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you dont wanna use ogaming and eq2mappers and such, you can still have fun doing quests and surely atleast soloing is still at points somewhat challenging in this game. Also grouping w/o healer is very nice, try it out! :smileyvery-happy:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But if you have a solied 6 person (or lets say even 4 person) group, you'll find that apart some nameds you wont have very much difficulties (atleast this is what i have observed). Personally i could use a bit more challenge, however i also like this game as it is now, since im a casuallish player and i love the fun feeling i usually have now when playing. Especially in the lower lvls the game is quite fast and fun, maybe even too fast <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>++Xan</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
