Looking for advise on poisons, higher lvl ones, best ? where can they be found ?

Which tier are you looking for? Do you prefer high direct-damage or high damage-over-time? Are you looking for debuff and other poisons or just damage?

Generally can be found on the broker, or directly from alchemists - I don't buy anything on the open market, myself. At level 55 I'm generally using Adeste's Disruption (legendary high DD poison) for the good stuff, still using up my old Torrent of the Ages and another Tier 5 legendary DD poison for more routine hunting.

Sorry, yes, looking for high DD mostly, was wondering if they are readily available at a broker and where ? or if they are player made.

Don't you buy merchant poisons (as they are crap) and try using eq2alchemy.com and the broker. They have a good list of poisons, shorted by tier. Great site and a good help or poison users.

Sorry, when I said "directly from alchemists," I meant players. By that point you don't want to be buying NPC poisons, you want the player-crafted stuff. The goooood stuff. Daddy likes the juice.

Why not buy ones from brokers? I bought some from an NPC merchant (in N qeynos) that does like 260 DD and a small dot for lvl 40, which is like 10 DD less than the legendary poisons I used at lvl 30. And it's a LOT cheaper than player made stuff.....

Well buying from the broker is ok, since that is usually player-made stuff. Be careful, some guys try to sell NPC poisons on the broker, and sometimes for a 500% markup.Well EQ2Alchemy has a nice overview over poison and potions (playermade). As you can see there the crafted Legendary Level 40 poison has 363 DD + 59 DoT, which is roughly 40% better than yours.I'm confused though that the normal Level 40 poison is just 268 + 47, which would be almost identical to the one you are using. Are you sure yours is a NPC one and not a Playermade one sold on the broker? (name should be "Disruptive Torment")
Personally, I use a few different poisons made by alchemist friends. It would really behoove all rangers to meet up with budding chemists and become life-long partners in crime. You can help steer them to what may sell and they will usually cut you good deals since you've been with them for a long time. You can use the links below in game to see my favorites. Just paste it into a guild message, /tell, /ooc.. etc.. aITEM -1389746427 Translucent Ravaging Disruption:Translucent Ravaging Disruption/a aITEM -358203122 Translucent Adeste's Disruption:Translucent Adeste's Disruption/a aITEM 269781204 Translucent Strike of Glox:Translucent Strike of Glox/a aITEM -969497473 Translucent Phantasmic Visions:Translucent Phantasmic Visions/a

You should add Strike of Glox to that mix also. That pierce/crush debuff does a nice bump to all your Bow CA's provided your using pierce arrows. If your in a group situation mention to the members they should switch to their pierce/crush weapons and let the fun begin.

Our guild MT called on me to practice duelling the other day, so we met up out in SS. Given that he's 3 levels higher than me and far better equipped, I decided to level the playing field by letting him sample the tangy zip of Phantasmic Visions. I'd never used it in a duel before, and I wasn't prepared for the results. I didn't level the playing field at all, I completely razed it. He spent so much time standing there motionless that I could abandon my cautious approach and just unload when I saw the opportunity. I'd usually open with Leg Shot and Debilitating, hit him with a snare, then drop into invis and circle around while he looked around in confusion. He's a guardian, so I just hung back in stealth while his mit buffs expired, then went to work. The first round was quite close, but I ended the next two battles without a scratch - he never got close enough to me to land a blow.

So yeah, Phantasmic FTW.

Dropping into sneak will only help you tell your tank learns about Totem's of the Butterfly (see stealth).

Use the legendary poisons, high damage, more procs, and oh man do things die fast when it touches them. You can stack if you want, often times its a waste of money since most things die with 10 seconds of fighting with one poison, benefits really only come in when facing heriocs, and epics. High direct damage does seem to be the favorable route to take.
