Okay I don't understand poisons and I know if must just be that I'm missing something but okay Unimaginable Agony is a level 10 poison and it does 17 damage and 15dmg/6 seconds the level 30 purple poison that everyone raves about I'm looking at and it looks like it does LESS damage. but costs like 10 times the amount. Also 64 copper merchant bought poisons do 44 damage 26dmg/6 seconds So I'm really confused. What am I missing?

Well if its a level 30 poison that means that at level 24 you can't use it. So the damage you're seeing is it reduced to your level, which is kinda a whacked system. When you can actually use them, you might find them doing a bit more damage. Player made poisons also tend do to more damage than merchant bought ones. Plus there are different types of poisons. you have, Low Direct Damage(DD) and high Damage over Time(DoT) poisons, then you have Mid-DD Mid-DoT poisons, and then High DD Low DoT poisons. Depending on which of these types can affect them. There was a great post about poisons, and their effects previously on this forum, you might try to find it and see if it helps you out any.

Okay ai'll check it at 24 but about the player crafted v. Merchant bought. it seems that the merchant bought stuff is better according to the damages listed on them to my friend who's a level 17 predator and can use both

Crafted poisons generally do more damage than storebought poisons do, and have twice as many procs per application. (IIRC, that is. It's been a loooong time since I used storebought poisons. )

for damage poison:

with npc bought you get: 5 applications, 100 procs each = 500 procs for one poison

with player crafted you get: 7 applications, 200 procs each = 1400 procs for one poison

and the player crafted should do more damage. at least i remember from 30+ it was always so. perhaps you are comparing different tier npc and player crafted poisons? check the minimum level requirement of them.

--------------------------
Ryilan Nightbreeze
--------------------------
